Macware PowerSlides

It is horrible to sell a product that wont work with current systems. Feel cheated and would warn strongly against anyone buying this product

The slides themselves are good quality and theres a nice range of diversity in the designs. HOWEVER, note that this products installer is not compatible with current versions of Mac OS X. The installer did not work, requiring me to manually copy and paste the templates and backgrounds into the relevant folders on my Macbook. The reason the installer didnt work is because its a PowerPC application, and the current Mac OS X no longer includes Rosetta (the software that enables older PowerPC programs to run on new x86-based systems). If Rosetta had been dropped in the current Mountain Lion version of OS X which was released on 7/25/12 (about two months ago), I would chalk it up to the item page just not having been updated yet. But Rosetta was dropped in the prior Lion version of OS X which was released more than a year ago (7/20/11). It irritates me that this programs installer has been incompatible with Macs operating system for more than a year and theres no mention of a potential compatibility issue with newer Macs anywhere on this items page. You can still get the slides and backgrounds and themes off the disc by copying and pasting them into the relevant directories manually... and the price is definitely a steal... but for those of you who are not as computer savvy, just be forewarned. If you bought your Mac (or upgraded the operating system) anytime since July 2011, you cant just pop this disc in your drive and run the automated installer program.
