This light is as bright as the sun on a hot summer day. Im almost convinced its a wide-beam high-intensity laser, so I try not to point it at anything valuable. Its so bright, I was able to have my electricity turned off, and I turn it on in a back room. It literally lights up the house. Just a word of advise, dont go into that back room.

I thought this was going to be the best flashlight for me but its not perfect. The light is good, the battery life is excellent, and I thought the construction of the bulb was superb.... Until the rubber button fell out exposing the on/off switch. Thankfully I found it and put it back into place, but I had to put some tape around the button in case it ever wanted to fall out again, I wont loose it. I wish I didnt have to tape up a 30 dollar flashlight.

I bought this bad boy about 3 years ago for an Xmas present, but ended up keeping it because didnt like the camo pattern. I instead bought a different present, and half heartily kept the flashlight. It sat around for a while, and then one day I decided to use it. I fell in love the first time I turned it on. I have used and taken this flashlight everywhere. Extremely durable, and doesnt eat up battery power fast. Oh.... Its extremely bright too.

Bought this for my husbands birthday since his original Mag Lite was misplaced a week prior and he was devastated. When he opened this one he was beyond happy! It is so much brighter than the older version. He now wants a few more! The LED makes a huge difference.

Previous to this purchase I had never owned a big Maglite, but I decided to splurge and treat myself. This rocks. I use this to take my dog out for a walk before daylight. I live in a high crime area, so its nice to know this flashlight can double as a weapon if need be. Good to have in the zombie apocalypse..haha!

Nice and bright. Its odd how Maglite advertises less lumens that other flashlights yet it produces just as much light, if not more. Im assuming there must not be a standard for rating. This light easily shines across my 1 acre yard, brightly illuminating anything it comes across. In fact, I can also check my neighbors yard while Im at it. Walking through the house after dark, should it be necessary, I can easily clear any boogie-men that may be paying me a visit. My 500 lumen spotlight does outshine this Maglite but, then, my 500 lumen spotlight is not made to give a good thumpin like the Maglite, either. Dual purpose. Win-win. I moved away from Maglite over the years but with the price of the digital camo version that Amazon had, I ordered two. Glad I did.

I have to say this is the best flashlight I have ever had. I bought this flashlight over a year ago and use it quite often. The light still shines as bright as it did on day one; and it is indeed a bright light. And, I have yet to replace the batteries. Sure, one could get the more expensive Streamlight or Pelican flashlights, but with this Maglite you are getting an absolute bargain. Its worth twice the price (or more). Maglite quality is there, just like the old days when America and Americans took pride in the things we made. I sure do miss those old days when we produced quality products at a great price that lasted forever. I am proud to say that Maglite still makes those times of American-made, quality, old-school products in this day and age. My only real complaint would be the black hole it produces. I dont know why this cannot be solved, especially since I have cheaper flashlights that do not have a black hole. I will not deduct any stars for this as this is such a great product, and in doing so would be dishonest. Long live the Maglite flashlight. And God bless the USA. • UPDATE! (5.15.2020): I have had this flashlight for almost 6 years now, and I have not yet changed the batteries! No joke. The light is just as bright as it was when I 1st took it out of the box. As a side note, I own another Maglite (incandescent bulb) since the 90s. I have not changed the batteries on that one either! It also STILL works as good as new! Maglite is THE BEST FLASHLIGHT out there, bar none!!!

The advertised lumen value seems to be accurate as compared to my other flashlights. But despite Asian manufactureres having long-since perfected the necessary optical characteristics of zooming a spot-to-flood flashlight, American manufacturers still cant manage to create a ZOOM flashlight without causing a large black spot to form within the light spot, in addition to greatly losing the uniformity of the illuminated area, when zoomed to the flood setting. But strangely, I bought Maglites Camo 3AA cell zoom flashlight version for a friend, about a year ago, and it didnt have this problem. So, I expected that the 3D cell one would work as well. But it didnt. In addition, this unit seems unnecessarily heavy...as I have 2 other 3D cell flashlights that are considerably lighter in weight.
