> 24 hourI had a cheap third hand from radio shack for twenty years and finally upgraded to this one after it broke. I should have bought this a long time ago - its so much nicer and more functional. It makes positioning pcb boards to solder so easy!

> 24 hourLove the size and the weight, the arms are not quite as bendy as I would like and they can be a bit difficult to get precisely where you want them. I am also using it for a gluing small items, not as it was intended for. But over all I like it a lot and its been just what I needed. Very happy with my purchase

> 24 hourNice strong magnets and the flexible arms have just the right amount of rigidity.

> 24 hourPurchased for soldering. Very handy to get everything just right and then apply heat. Or to fix the soldering iron in place for a slow heating of the wire and just poking the solder at the joint until it sucks it up. But I find myself breaking it out for many tasks where youd have to hold something in place for long periods. When not in use, the super strong magnets can hold things elsewhere. Holding instruction sheets or recipe cards or notes on a fridge, range hood, or working on the car for example.

> 24 hourNot the absolute best holders Ive ever used but theyre also not $800. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone not wanting to spend that kind of money. Super high quality for both consumer and pro-sumer grade equipment.

> 24 hourThe longer arms are pretty weak at holding anything in position. The clips constantly moved on me and would spin when trying to solder. The hot gun glue holder would constantly come unscrewed from the the base. I bought this because of all the positive reviews. Maybe I got a bad unit. Not worth the money.

> 24 hourAfter using this helping hands set for over a year, my view of it has diminished. This is completely due to the alligator clips. These clips mostly hold on to whatever it is you need, but the lock screws do *not* hold the clips to the arms for long and the alligator clips fall out. Regularly. The metal that the clips are made of is thin and doesnt seem to be able to handle much torque. Or maybe its the set screw. It is infinitely irritating to position a part for soldering only to have the whole thing slowly collapse like marshmallow filling.

> 24 hourI have been “soldering” (repair, creating electronic projects) for many years, and I have used many different “jigs” to help me with challenging tasks... this is by far the most versatile, robust, well thought out and beautifully constructed set of “helping hands” I have ever used! Cudos to the designers and makers of this product! Nothing flimsy about it at all, all parts fit well and clearly, top notch materials have been used in its fabrication. I highly recommend this product!
