These are the best trim nail punches I have found. Small enough to get into right spots but pretty heavy duty compared to some of the other ones!

    Does as advertised

    Greater than one week

A must have for trim nails, especially in hard to reach places. This one is the smallest Ive found. The ones in Home depot and lowes are HUGE. This fits in pocket or tool belt and you forget its there.

This is the nail punch you want if you only want one in your bag - this one has almost no slop, excess between bore and punch - whereas the larger versions have quite a lot of wiggle between the punch and bore. The plastic is almost enough to keep it from rolling away, they could have gone a little wider or a little more tactile or a little more vibration absorbing. But still the best punch style tool on the market.

Akward to use. Not magnetic so one must hold nail from falling out which becomes a frequent occurance. Also leaves too big of a dent when using actual trim nails. There is no way one could use with gloves.

Like: Prevents mistakenly hammering your fingers. More effective than grasping trim nails with say, pliers. Dislike: It is long, which helps it from becoming lost, but it could be shorter to fit into tighter spaces. However, if you need a shorter one, it is available from another company for about $8.50.

Very compact for getting in those hard to get places. Always seem to loose them somehow and end up buying one about every 6 months but great tools

I used this to set weatherstrip nails in Bronze weatherstripping. Its a little large for that but it does work. Also, this model doesnt have a nail retainer clip so you have to carefully hold the plunger back a bit so the nail doesnt fall out. I pre-drilled the nail holes with some small metric drill bits that I bought at Harbor Freight. Doing that and using this punch made the job go a lot easier.

Light weight, compact, durable, inexpensive. Great for starting & finishing a trim nail into tight spaces. Also makes for easy nailing with gloves on in the cold.

Malco offers three different models of trim nail punches, depending on your preference, TNP2S, TNP2R, and TNP3S. Each model effectively drives trim nails into soffit, fascia, and other finishing trim without denting or marring material. The TNP2S, Heavy Duty Trim Nail Punch features an all-steel nose and aluminum tail piece that directs weight to the working end when grasping or starting a nail. Accommodates up to 1-1/4″ (31.2 mm) standard trim nails. Nose fits into 1/2″ (12.7 mm) J-channel. The TNP2R, Trim Nail Punch with Retaining Clip, offers easier nailing from any angle or height and has an exclusive, “nail retaining clip” feature. Avoid the awkwardness and strain of balancing nails in the nose of the punch or holding back the drive pin while standing on a ladder or reaching out to nail. The new retaining clip also minimizes scrapes and dents caused by nail slippage or improper setting depth.

From the Manufacturer

Mini Size Trim Nail Punch is pocket size and constructed of hardened steel, the tool will hold and install standard 1-1/4-inch (31.2 mm) trim nails. Small size allows easy access to recesses of formed trim pieces. Hex collar prevents rolling when tool is set down. Corrosion resistant.
