The 8+ inch compressed length will not allow the hood to close. The OEM struts are about 5-6inches compressed. Unfortunately in my haste I installed these without realizing that. According to the description it should fit my vehicle: 2005-2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged Sport Utility 4-Door Hood That is incorrect as it certainly does not fit my 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged Hood.

Used to support the hood on my land Rover lr3. Just slightly longer than the factory struts but they work perfectly so far.
