Mcbazel Surecom SW-114 SWR RF Field Strength Test Meter with SO-239 UHF Connector for CB Operation

I opened the box, hooked it up and the first meter would do nothing. I took it to a CB guru, he hooked it up in his shop & again, the first meter would not move so this meter was defective right from the factory. So much for quality checking. I would NOT recomend buying this, it was a big waste of money. I woumd have returned it but I had thrown all the packaging away when I opened it, so theres about 30.00 down the drain.

The little antenna for the field strength meter came apart but it was easily fixed, needed to be resoider.

Basic SWR meter for CB.

The unit does work for SWR and Watt measurement but no instructions on how to use the field strength feature. The SWR meter does not zero out making accurate measurements on the small meter difficult, and there is no open access to make adjustment without dismantling meter. The Watt meter feature functions as expected The meter arrived with marks and scratches on the plastic screens, and the case looked like it was used. Though the meter is functional as a watt meter, it is a poor SWR meter based on its inability to zero out to provide a quality SWR. I would not recommend this based on the SWR meter issues and the quality control on the condition of the case and the inability to fine tune the needles on the meters.

High SWR is a radio killer.

Seems accurate, is within 5% of my other meter but the build quality isnt good. The clear plastic covers over the meters rattle around and the antenna came out of the connector. It was a very poor solder job from the factory. I was able to re-solider it, but for the cost it should be built better.
