Megacast Stainless Steel Ring Sizing Mandrel Sizes 1-16

I purchased this for personal use only, to measure rings I own and rings I might buy or sell. It is so heavy I can see how a professional could use it as a size adjustment tool. Seems to provide accurate measurements. Seems of good quality. Well-worth the money.

This is an excellent quality, heavy steel mandrel. Markings are accurate as to ring size. I have used it to make rings from copper and silver, where most of the forming is done by striking the piece with a leather or nylon hammer while on the mandrel. The mandrel is of sufficient mass and hardness to provide a very stable work surface. The size rings seem to be lazer or acid etched and the surface is smooth. These markings may fade with the type of work I use this for, but theyve held up nicely so far. If you only use a mandrel to check ring size, you can get away with a lighter aluminum one, but I dont see the point of that as they often sell for the same price and are inferior, in my opinion. I am quite satisfied with this tool.

Solid stainless steel. Nice finish. A little hard to read but thats a minor issue. Verified accuracy. Super value.

Only thing I didn’t like was how easily the numbers get rubbed out as you resize the ring. Not a major deal since this is just for personal use, to be used on occasion.

The mandrel is strong and heavy and has screw hole on the bottom so that it can be screwed onto something so that your hands are free to work with wire or a hammer. Its excellent quality! The sizes are etched into the metal so your dont have to worry about them scratching off. Im glad I bought it!

I got this to fix a ring that got completely flattened on the bottom after reading the reviews and it definitely didn’t disappoint,very well made and worked for what I needed it for.

Exactly what I was looking for. A weighty tool just like in the jewelry store. No more guessing.

Heavy but i like it

Very happy with this mandrel. It took me a while to finally pick one. This one is rounded on all sides which makes bending shanks on it much easier. I would rate it five stars if I felt that the numbers and markings would actually stick around. I anticipate them fading fairly quickly though.
