> 3 dayThe fault is in the computer not the External Hard Drive. The drive works fine on an older computer. But, I bought it to backup files on a Nextbook that only has 3 Gigs of memory. Unfortunately, I dont think it has enough free space to format the EHD. One of the reasons I bought this particular drive was because it advertised as no formatting necessary, but my Nextbook still cant read it Its a conundrum.

> 3 dayMy job and schooling requires me to back up and store a-lot of files and documentation. This has come in handy and the price was amazing. I’m pleased with this product so far.

Greater than one weekI was using it to hold a bunch of files and safely unplugged it from my laptop the way that I do my other hard drive to move the files to my computer. Lucky for me, I still had a copy of all of these files on my laptop because when I plugged it into my computer, the damn thing just stopped working. The file window popped up for a second and then it was gone. I tried it on my laptop, nothing. I tried it on three other computers in the house and even tried it on an XBOX One to see if it would at least start the whirring noise that I can usually hear from it. Nothing! I was so frustrated! I havent used it often enough for it to break, if anything Ive probably used it around 4 times in total. I didnt keep it plugged into my laptop 24/7 because I move my laptop around a lot and was worried that I could cause a shortage in the cord - granted the cord is very thick, I just didnt want to risk it. Im never buying this again, it was a total waste of money. It mightve just been a one-time fatal error but Ive never had something like this happen to me before with an external hard drive and it definitely wasnt something I was prepared for. Im past the time I could get a refund but if I hadnt been able to retrieve those files some other way, I dont think a refund wouldve been able to account for how much I actually wouldve lost. I guess, be careful while on the Internet buying things. Nothing is incapable of failing.

> 3 dayThough the instructions are slim-to-none and require a magnifying glass to read, and though I have an older OS (Windows 7), this is a totally plug-and-play external drive. Windows 7 popped up with a message that it couldnt find a driver for it, but it didnt matter because the drive works regardless. Dont worry about the tiny instructions and ignore Windows. The drive does precisely what its supposed to do.

> 3 dayPlug and play, connected right away. The size of the unit makes it easy to keep out of sight. Its not huge storage wise but I am using it for images and not filled it yet in several months.
