Greater than one weekI bought these for my 14-month-old son. He loved to play with the magnets on the fridge, but there were several that were either too small, too delicate or not durable enough for him to play with. I got this box of animal magnets and stuck them to the bottom of the fridge. He happily plays with them while Im busy in the kitchen. So far, I have had no issues with the animals peeling off or anything, and they stick very well to the fridge. The front of our fridge is a little bit curved, and these magnets still stick very firmly. The magnets stick out from the fridge enough so my son can easily grab onto them, too, which isnt the case for some of our other magnets. My only complaint is that some of the animals are kind of small, so I dont feel comfortable letting my son play with those while he still puts everything in his mouth. I kept these up higher on the fridge so he cant reach them. I think there are about 5 or 6 of them. But the majority of them are big enough.

> 3 dayCute magnets, but a lid for the wooden box would have made this a 5 star item. Why no lid?

> 3 dayOur 1 year old loves to play with these on the fridge which gives mama time to do some dishes haha! Theyre wonderful tools for speech sound/ language development (we practice animal sounds, prepositions, etc.) and fine motor to put them on/ off. The illustrations are clear and beautiful and though baby loves to put things in her mouth, they havent been a choking risk nor been ruined. An excellent purchase!

Greater than one weekThis is one of a few different Melissa & Doug products I bought to work on give me... style tasks with our son, who has Autism among other things. One of the reasons I went with these is that the magnet is thin and flat all across the back, and I see that as being very desirable. I have a chewer, and items that have smaller more powerful magnets are riskier, because heaven forbid he should swallow more then one, its a great way to punch holes in your gut. And Im all about minimizing risk in this household. My son understands more then many people give him credit for, but he still has very limited impulse control, those inhibiting signals just dont make it in time yet. So, weve had these for over 2 years now, and the magnets still work, which I think is great from the durability standpoint, because Ive seen thinner magnets that loose their ability to adhere to metal over a similar period of time. So, I think they are very durable, IF...you do everything you can to keep your kid from chewing on them. Which, for anything with a magnet on it, I think is a must. Like many of their puzzles and their other magnet products, these do have a cardstock image glued onto the wood, which naturally, will not hold up to chewing. Ill ding them for that on a puzzle, because thats something I personally would be willing to turn my back on. A magnet, Im never willing to turn my back on a kid who is a chewer when it comes to magnets, so this is a toy I keep up out of reach when were not using it. And thats actually how I recommend you use this, as I would with any magnetic toy, supervising it carefully, unless you have an older child who has no desire to chew on these kinds of things.

> 3 dayMagnets could be a bit stronger and the paper rips odd the magnets easy. They feel kind of cheap

> 3 dayHe is 1 1/2 years and loves refrigerator magnets. Now he has his own, in cool shapes, that he cant swallow, and has found metal surfaces allll over the house. They are not hard too strong for him to easily remove. He loves them.
