    For the past fourteen years or so my girls (we have four ranging from 2 years to 17 years old) have all played almost exclusively with dolls that were either from American Girl or Corolle. My older girls had Bitty Baby dolls, and while theyre sweet, I found them to scuff easily (especially their painted on hair) and look beat up which is disappointing considering the price. The Corolle 12 inch dolls with their weighted bodies have been well loved and are easily favorite baby dolls for my two younger girls, and their softer vinyl and moulded hair have held up far better to lots of love from toddler and preschool aged children. Even my preschooler son has not been able to damage any of those dolls with his rough play. These twins from Melissa and Doug combine the size of a Bitty Baby doll with the slightly softer vinyl of a Corolle doll to make a nice baby doll that should be able to stand up to lots of love from little ones who want to play mommy or daddy. I like that the dolls have moulded hair instead of painted on hair. No paint to scuff off is a good thing.
