Update: these are not good, work about as well as cheapo store brand filters. Let grounds through. I THINK these are extremely old stock. The price is great, and they work well enough. But they feel much thinner and more brittle than previous melitta filters Ive purchased. And the copyright date on the packaging says 2007...

Im told that a gold permanent filter allows more oil in the coffee which increases the body and makes a better tasting cup than paper filters. although Ive got a pretty good taste for good coffee, I see no difference between these great paper filters and a permanent gold filter. There is no off-taste of paper and theyre pretty tough as well. These are now on my permanent shopping list.

I thought Id stock up after finding the same brand I buy at the store for my 8-12 cup Bunn machine. I love that they are not bleached and that we will have plenty for a while for a decent price

I like the fact that they are unbleached. It makes for better coffee.
