> 3 dayThese are pretty amazing. Id been using Harbor Freight sanding discs for ages and recently got some Mirka solid sanding discs and was impressed by the improvement. I just saw these mesh discs, also from Mirka and decided to give them a try. I think theyre as much better than the standard solid Mirka discs as those were from my old HF ones. They sand unusually quickly and leave a good finish. The only problem they have is tearing. If I hit a sharp corner with the outer edge of the disc it runs the risk of tearing the disc, which then propagates quickly. Otherwise the grit lasts indefinitely as far as I can tell. Ive always torn one before the grit wore out. Im toying with running a bead of epoxy around the outer edge on the back side so that it wont tear as easily. Im afraid thatll mess with the quality of the work, though.

> 3 dayI just came across these 01-23-21 thrown in with all the other 5 sander disks. I dont remember purchasing them 08-18. It was a time I was drawing my SS and kept working ,as a machinist ,an extra two years putting every spare dime into my future woodworking because I new I would have very little money for such things after I retired. The backing is a bit like scotch bright only less dense. You dont have to worry bout lining the holes up making you a much cleaner environment. Were all more aware of dust and fumes these days especially when we hit 60 years old which i did 10 years ago. Just dont sand out anything thats wet, I assume they will clog up, and they should last at least as long as the standard ones.

> 3 dayI use these abrasives on a Festool sander with a pad. Works very well providing a smooth even finish. Long lasting as they stay clean. I like them better than traditional sanding discs. Will by other grits as well.

> 3 dayThe sandpaper seems as good, if not better than the standard Mirka 100 grit, and the mesh does work well with dust pickup. They definitely last longer than the standard sandpaper, but after sanding for a while, the hook and loop does not seem to grip as well as the standard.

> 3 dayI really like these mesh discs. Dust collection is excellent, they clog far less than paper discs, they seem to leave a smoother scratch pattern and last longer. The only drawback Ive found is that you need to use a pad protector inbetween the sanding pad and the disc, but thats relatively minor.

23-11-2024This box of sandpaper was correct. I wanted the 120 grit 5-inch Mirka sanding disks, and thats what I got. Didnt matter they were in a different box.
