exactly what i needed-- large enough to hold my laptop, papers and other things; comfortable to carry on the train and the walk back to the platform.

This will be my first review Ive written on Amazon in the years Ive used it. I bought this bag in 2014 for college. I needed something to carry my laptop and notebooks and this was perfect. This bag was getting everday use and abuse for close to 4 years of college and work. The build quality of the bag I got was great and has held up well to 5 years of abuse. The strap connection to the bag are made of plastic and swivel. You can easily disconnect the strap from the bag if needed. Ive had no issues with the plastic connections, they seem to be well made. I still use this bag to this day for work. So if your looking for a bang for your buck satchel for your laptop/books and other items then i would highly reccomend this bag. Of course think about what youll be carrying before you buy this.

One major flaw and I dont understand the positioning of it: there is a row for pens to be inserted that extenda below the flap. It doest seem like a big deal...at first. Irritating.

The bag is much larger than I expected so my intended use is up in smoke. That is not a negative. It is a VERY well made bag. Ideal for students and professionals who dont require formal looking laptop cases. I have found the bag very useful for my writing, gaming and having all I need to quickly pack and organize ant information required by the hospitals and doctors offices for my family. The only downside is the handle is badly placed for the design, the shoulder strap is the only way to comfortably and securely carry it. Because it is such a sturdy meant for hard use bag, it is heavier than others, keep that in mind. Its not a substitute fir a handbag, but it makes a fair diaper bag if you pack it right. Yes, I will recommend this as a good buy.

The model I bought has a flaw. When you use the small attached handle the inside will come apart where the back flap is. They will honor their warranty, but who wants to go through the hassle of sending off the bag. I still use mine. But I dont know if I will buy another. If they would accept pictures and replace I would love that. It is very clear what happened is a materials flaw. Next time try a rip stop type of interior.
