Out of the several third-party cases I have tried for the Clara HD, this one is hands down the winner. The fabric mesh texture on the front and back is handsome and feels pleasant in the hand, the charging port is never obstructed (not true of the official first-party case!), and the sleep/wake mechanism works perfectly. The best part about this case is certainly that it is very simple and lightweight! No need to fold back doodads and tuck covers behind straps or snap things into place. The cover is thin and light, and will rest comfortably in your hand when open without making your device uncomfortable to hold. Other cases that I have tried got this wrong and ended up feeling way too thick and cumbersome, which ruins the one-hand reading experience that the Clara by itself gets so right! My only gripes with this case are that the flip covers material can feel a bit thin and that I worry about the sturdiness of the thin hinge. It seems solidly constructed, though, and at this price itd be a bit silly to expect it to last forever. Itll do a good job preventing the Kobos screen from getting scratched up. Id really recommend this case as the best option for anyone with a Clara HD, especially if you enjoy reading with one hand!

Easy to insert the Clara, and definitely provides protection. Sleep on close works. Helps save battery life. The top cover folds to the back, making it easy to hold the reader. Some additional weight, but not bad. Dont know about durability, but is holding together well. Id give a slight minus for cleanability ... the textured surface makes it a tiny bit difficult.

Had it for over a year now, I put in and take it out of my book bag multiple times a day and its just now showing signs of use (a little strip that runs along the edge started to peel up; I glued it back down and its not noticable now). It looks great and has held up nicely. Im definitely going to buy another (maybe a few) if they still exist. Oh yeah, it also offers a lot of protection, its sturdy and the magnet closure works great and works with the open to turn on kobo function. Even if I want to hold the reader without the case I still always put it back in when Im done because I know its safe in there.

The grey fabric cover is exactly as I expected. Looks stylish. It fits the kobo perfectly. The magnetic switch turns to kobo on/off when the cover is flipped.

This is an affordable case that fits perfectly, is well made and the sleep function works well. It fits the Kobo Clara HD, which I can recommend highly for its adjustable warm tone light and snappy performance.
