> 24 hourI got two new monitors but the DisplayPort cable was too short for one of them. I tried an HDMI to DisplayPort cable I had, which is passive, and the picture was quite washed out. I thought there was something wrong with the monitor because it literally paled in comparison to the other matching monitor. So I thought getting the proper cable might fix the problem and took the chance. I needed 10 DisplayPort to 10 DisplayPort, and this was the best value when it was on sale like $2 off. Fixed my problem! I am so happy! When it comes to generics, I really like Monoprice, especially with free shipping. I would compare it to Rosewill, if not better, if that helps anyone.

> 24 hourI have this 3ft cable going into to a KVM switch with another 6ft cable going to my PCs. It works well, other than a blackout every now and again. I probably have to isolate the wires a bit better. I will say the 10ft cable just wouldnt work with this setup. Maybe the 10ft cable works well by itself, but when it went into the KVM with the 3ft cable (13ft in total) I got constant blackouts.

> 24 hourWhat can you say about cords? Plenty. Monoprice cords have never let me down, while some other brands HAVE. Unless you see a review from me for another brand, presume that that other brand didnt work out (cable failed after regular use, connectors substandard, etc.). Monoprice also warranties many of their cables so if it DOES go bad, you have recourse. This cable looks pretty nice. It functioned well to daisy-chain two monitors via DP-DP connection (and only 16.5 length was required, not a whole meter). Connectors are solid, sturdy, somewhat easy to release. In all ... another Monoprice win.

> 24 hourI purchase this for a portable machine that the users tend to run over the cord frequently and these hold up much better than the non braided cables.

> 24 hourOrdered this for new 165hz monitor and given the length it performs flawlessly. Final Thoughts: Yes I recommend this cable as it does as advertised, fits in connectors properly. Built well for the money.

> 24 hourI read a lot of reviews for DisplayPort cables before buying these. I see all kinds of reviews from people about pins being active that should not be active. Or it isnt hitting the data rate specd. Or maybe they are getting lower than expected frame rates. I am sure all these are important to some users in specific scenarios, however if you just need a DisplayPort cable for daily office work and occassional mid to low performance gaming, it works and I have not ran into any issues.

> 24 hourUPDATE: Im dropping a star because I began experiencing display dropouts when I switched my monitors to 10-bit mode. The cables still work perfectly fine at 1440p 165Hz 8-bit though so I think they will be okay for most people. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Since everything seems to come with 6 foot cables and proper cable management eats up a lot of length I needed some longer ones. Got a couple of these Monoprice 10ft DisplayPort 1.4 cables and Im very happy with them. They are quite thick and sturdy feeling. Physical connection is fairly solid as well. Compared to paying 2-3x the price at a big box store these are a no-brainer. Working perfectly with my two 1440p monitors at 165Hz, no issues whatsoever. Ill also point out that the cables come coiled in a loop and arent folded. This is a big plus in my book as there wont be any permanent bends in the cable. These will be my go-to as long as theyre still available.
