The photo clearly shows aluminum mixed with the copper. What is the TRUTH? Ive had BAD experiences with aluminum wire (caused a fire!) That includes CCA wire (copper clad aluminum). Avoid at all costs! Make sure it says 100% copper. UL listed products are also usually trustworthy.

I am not an audiophile, by anyones standards. However, I’ve purchased many of the “Monoprice” products and have never been disappointed! The value for your money is as stated by many. I like that they do not, usually, stamp their products. Just a plain simple out of the container put it to use product. This wire I buried around my outside uncovered patio to power my Monoprice speakers and two speakers I mounted to our columns. To date, the speakers are working well, no break in the wires which are well insulated and this is after three days of consistent rain in the Midwest. Awaiting daylight savings time change, so we can invite the neighbors over for an outside weekend movie night. Pros: Great price; pliable; sturdy; works as advertised; well insulated Cons: This is NOT against the product!! Ensure you order the proper gauge wire. I had to splice the wire at the amplifier end to connect to the amplifiers posts. When I placed the order, I based the gauge on the speakers requirements and forgot to do a check of what gauge the amplifier can take. I recommend Monoprice products to many co-workers, neighbors and friends.

I dont know why others had trouble stripping the outer sheath to make connections, unless the cable has changed. The outer covering is no harder to remove than that of house wiring. For long outdoor speaker runs, I cant imagine a better cable.

Monoprice has great wires and cables. Real great wire and its real copper wire not cca like most sellers on Amazon
