> 3 dayBy far my favorite chain lube. It is a bit more involved, because you have to degrease the chain before the first application. However, after that it is wonderful. I quickly wipe the chain after a ride, and re-apply every 3-4 rides under normal use on a road bike, 2-3 for a mountain bike. I also use this on my cyclocross bike. In dry and sandy races, this really cant be beat. It keeps the chain clean and free of grit in a way that oil/wax based lubricants just cant. Also, because the lubricant dries and you wipe away the excess, you finish with a shinny clean chain, not an ugly greasy mess. This helps keep the drive train running and shifting quietly and smoothly. This lube does a good job for a single rain-day ride. However, it doesnt rain that much where I live, so if you live in an environment with day-after-day rain, I cant say how well this will work for you.

> 3 dayI like this better than the finish line I was using. It has a sort of opaque or foamy look to it so you can actually see what its doing and it hangs on to the chain pretty well. End result cleaner and less waste.

> 3 dayI was looking for a dry lube for summer riding: mountain bike trail riding in the Denver foothills. I watched a relatively scientific YouTube video on several dry lubes. Muck off came in “first.” I had a chance to use muck off for several months. My problem is that it doesn’t hold up for an extended ride. I had chain noise after a short 15 mile doubletrack/single track ride. I’m back to Tri-Flow.

Greater than one weekI live in south Georgia near the Florida Line and ride rough Red Clay roads. I clean my chain with Simple Green and a Park cyclone chain cleaner every other ride. Once every couple of months when I am motivated, I remove the chain and ultrasonically clean it. My usual routes are between 26 and 60 miles and I ride three times a week, often at night. I ride a 1x Gravel bike with a SRAM Force 1 system. My drivetrain gets lots of dirt and muck. The roads can be dry and dusty with 4 of sugar sand , or deep with sticky red mud. The red clay roads often have patches of dry sand interspersed with deep muck. This makes for a challenge for lube selection. Ive used a number of commercially available products, but have liked the Muc Off Dry lube the best. Usually, the roads are dry, but the weather is quite humid. The muc-off dry lube stays clean and the drive train sings in this instance. if a mild to moderate amount of mud is encountered on the ride, the drivetrain sheds the mud well and does well with the dry lube. Sometimes the only clean area on my bike at the end of a ride like this is the drivetrain. For especially muddy days, riding through pedal deep water, or rides soon after a downpour, I will use the wet lube version with good results. The lube on the drivetrain doesnt look very clean after about 20 miles, but still keeps things humming along when things are truly soupy. I tried Muc-Off this spring after struggling with other brands failing during rides and have become a repeat customer.

> 3 dayI road cycle about 50-75 miles a week and this lube cannot keep up in dry conditions. It honestly made my Ultegra (applying per the directions) gear set so loud I thought my chain was worn out after only 400 miles. Switched to another popular lube and viola, no more noise. Wanted this lube to be better, but it honestly only good part of this lube is the smell; the performance is atrocious. Props for being eco-friendly I guess...

19-11-2024I live in a dusty place and dry. I have tried a few dry lube and nothing really works. This one seems to work as expected. It cleans the chain while you ride. I rarely wipe my chain unless of course when I put the lube.
