MVP Disc Sports Black Hole Pro 24-Chain Portable Disc Golf Basket Target

I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He absolutely loves it!! Super easy to set up, but it is a little heavy because of the chains. Regardless he uses this every day in our back yard and puts it in his car and will bring to other places too!! Highly recommend!

This is surprisingly rugged for a portable unit. Shipped fast, and easily assembled. Love it!

Heavy enough to last a long time and built to come down in seconds to move. We load them on the golf cart assembled to see them out. We had the stakes but they aren’t really needed. These are very well built nets.

I previously reviewed this product in 2018 and gave it 3 stars, commenting on the poor weld quality of the pole that failed when the basket fell over in high wind. When I reported the issue to MVP they responded promptly with a replacement pole. Now in 2020 they have redesigned the attachment points to provide a much more solid insert with more surface area to support stronger welds. In the photos you can see a side by side comparison of the old and new components. The 2020 basket is a far superior product. The gauge of the wire on the basket is still a compromise between durability and portability, but the heavy chains are crucial to course like catching, and this basket has that in spades. A great improvement and resolution to my only issue with the basket previously. Disclosure: MVP provided the improved basket for my evaluation.

Arrived quickly, was easy to assemble, and seems to be sturdy and durable! We’ve had a few storms since purchasing, and the basket stayed put and is no worse for the west. The box/packaging did have a strong smell, but the items themselves did not seem to at all.

As good as one can hope to get for this sort of product. Sturdy with heavy duty chains. I know you arent supposed to leave them outside if you want to maximize their lifespan, but I have and in over two years it hasnt degraded. (This is my second one.)

For $128 I wasnt sure if this was going to have the quality I was looking for but its straight, sturdy, heavy duty chains, and everything fits perfect. Plus the chain links wont eat up your disks with sharp edges like Ive read about on other, similar baskets. Very satisfied!

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. He LOVES it. Seriously can’t get him to stop using this basket. It took him 3 seconds to assemble. He likes that it has metal chains, not cheap plastic. It’s very durable and sturdy.

***Update*** MVP Sports quickly replaced all necessary parts, and things seem very sturdy. Solid disc catcher! I just received this in the mail today, and was extremely excited to have the weekend to use it. Initial assembly was easy, but when I took it outside to use the welding on the threading base gave immediately. The metal around the threading is bent, and the disc catcher was instantly pretty useless without the base. I have asked for a refund, and am hoping I can change my review given how the process is handled.

Great for putting practice in my backyard. I even use it on a temp course a group of us play and throw full shots at it. Portability aspect is a bit clunky but assembles and disassembles easily. I’ve only had it a couple of months so not sure of the longevity of the basket.
