> 3 dayIve been using Nalgene waterbottles since I was sixteen in the scouts. I fell in love with their relability, durability, leak proof lids, and the measurements on the side making it easy to use for water purification, cooking, and electrolyte drink mixes. The nalgene bottle can handle being frozen, and it can handle hot drinks too without leeching chemicals. I make tea in mine occasionally. You typically need to stand still to drink from it cuz it splashes a bit if you arent careful, but I recently discovered that you can get a little inner piece that will make it a narrower spout without having to sacrifice the wide mouth. My workplace requires see through waterbottles so the coloration of these bottles are perfect as well. A lot of people complain about the bottle smelling with nalgenes. The secret to not having a smelly nalgene is to wash it every single day without fail, paying close attention to the edges where your lips touch the theads, and dont just top up day old water with fresh water. Just make that part of your routine. Even if you only have water in it it will still start smelling because moist places is where bacteria will grow, and the source of bacteria is your lips and mouth. If you wash it every single day, which most sources recommend you do with any waterbottle, then youll be fine. Clean water is incredibly important and contaminating your drinking source by not washing the threads where the cap screws on and the inside is a good way to get yourself sick. The reason why I favor the wide mouth version because its much easier to clean.

> 3 dayAdding my review here because most people seem to review after 3-5 months of use. Im posting a review after 2 years of heavy use! The bottle has successfully survived both hot and cold temperatures for me (from the desert (110F) to cold Alaskan weather (-20F). It is able to handle boiled water well and has been used as a sleeping bag warmer as it lets off heat just slow enough to keep me nice and warm as I fall asleep during sub zero temperatures. As far as durability, the bottle will last you a very long time if you use it in non-gritty environments. Ive used the bottle at home, at work and even at the gym and there wasnt any wear and tear. However, Ive also used it while riding dune buggies, going hiking, doing mud runs, outside rock climbing, accidentally dropping it from a car, etc. It has survived all conditions and is holding strong, albeit all the dings and scratches (which are expected). I have never had an accidental leak either. The cap has been airtight, but shows significant wear and tear. The only real issue Ive had was the aesthetical aspect, but given what Ive put it through, I guess that is expected. Specifically, my bottle shows heavy wear and tear, specifically the measurement marks are completely warn off. Other than that, I was specifically seeking a larger water bottle, so 32 ounces were perfect (38 ounces filled to the brim). Drinking 2.5 of these a day gets you your daily recommended water intake. It also has a surprisingly comfortable grip given its size. Given that, I might have even opted or the taller one that can hold more water. Finally, this water bottle doesnt affect the taste of the liquid at all. Ive used it with RO water, tap water, river water, etc. The taste is as good as it was before. Given the larger cap size, it is fairly easy to clean!

> 3 dayIve owned this particular bottle for around a year now, and it seems to be holding up great so far. I have used and abused this bottle, frequently dropping it onto hard surfaces and holding it by that plastic lid strap often. It scratches easy but that is to be expected with a plastic bottle. It will not leak unless you dont twist the lid on properly. Obviously, this is not an insulating bottle. Cooler liquids placed inside will heat up rapidly and hot liquids (dont do that) will cool down quickly. Doesnt bother me, if it did I would have bought a Hydroflask or something. Like all other water bottles, water inside it will develop an odd taste over time due to residues and microbial activity. No surprise there, just an unavoidable fact of life. As for ease of drinking, it can be difficult at times, but thats what I should have expected when I bought a wide-mouthed bottle like this. When in the car, going over even the smallest bump can be disastrous when mid-drink, so you will often need to time your sips to avoid a faceful of water. Of course this could be avoided with getting one of those adapters that fit onto the mouth and neck it down to a more manageable size, or even buying a narrow-necked bottle from Nalgene instead. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

> 3 dayI purchased 2 of these in different colors. They have far exceeded expectation. I fill one 1/4 full of water & freeze it for my tea, and one 3/4 full of water for afternoon water. In the morning I top them both off & have ice cold beverages all day. There is absolutely no weird taste given off from the bottles so I assume they stand by their word of BPA free. They are easy to open & close and fit well in my cooler. (They are as tall as a normal G@torade bottle) Just be careful drinking and not let the lid fly back & hit you (hasnt happened but could) :) Overall an A+. Will buy again if needed.

> 3 dayWeve had one of these, which I bought at a sporting goods store, for around 10 years now. It is still in perfect condition minus some minimal scuffs from the dishwasher or being inside a backpack. The ones on Amazon are much cheaper and the quality still looks the same. Were glad we made the switch to BPA free years ago. They also make some Nalgene water bottles with different caps and necks, and they have all been wonderful. My favorite for everyday use at work and school are the newer ones that have a screw on top, but the top has a hinge with an arched topper-thing. The top opens up to reveal a hole about the circumference of a nickel, which gives you plenty of water without a lot of spills, makes refilling from a sink or fountain easier, and makes cleaning a breeze compared to the old style water bottles with pull tops w/ dinky holes to drink from, or straws. These are really important since most non-stainless steel water bottles do have BPA, which can cause all kinds of issues, especially with the hormones of children. We stopped storing our food in plastic containers (using glass ones instead), chose these Nalgene and some ,stainless steel water bottles, etc, and have felt much more relaxed for years now. The bonus over stainless steel is that there is no metal taste from the Nalgene bottle. Finally: My favorite about this particular 32 oz size is that you can practically get your hand in there to scrub it out. I can fit it in the top rack of my dishwasher, though I usually hand wash, and I know it will get clean. If there were visible particles inside it, I would be able to see them better than with stainless steel. The con is for those who need a stainless steel bottle while bugging out or something, as a way to boil and therefore purify their water over a fire or stove. These are lighter...and GSI and Oli sell metal camp cups of high quality (with folding handles) that will fit perfectly onto the bottom of this bottle. Those are about $10 and youd be a lot less likely to burn yourself. With that method, you arent adding a whole lot of weight if any compared to having a stainless steel bottle of this size...and you have a way to avoid burning yourself.

> 3 dayI have been using this brand basically my entire life and i love them. Its a simple design, suprisingly durable, and made in the USA baby! My old one had had the misfortune of being owned by me; i have dropped, scraped, thrown, sat on, lost in snow, , etc on it and my dog had gotten ahold of it and it was still just as functional as the day i got it. The best part(in my opinion) is i have never gotten that nasty plasticy taste like ya typically would with every other brand. The only thing i could make a fuss about is lack of color choices/customization and i wish they would make a line of tumblers because i prefer straws over gulping from the bottle. 11/10 recommend!

> 3 dayQuaity bottle made in the USA. I was hoping itd be something I could stick my hand into for cleaning but its not that big of an opening. The cap screws off for drinking which is fine and the cap stays attached to the bottle securely which I hoped for to hook it to a carabiner.
