NAR Hyfin Vent Compact - Two Pack

My drill sergeant used to say a sucking chest wound is natures way of saying youve been in a fire fight. MAN we trained hard to learn how to apply plastic cigarette package wrappers and/or MRE bags... that was decades ago. Now you got your ACS (Asherman), BCS (Bolin), HALO, Fox brand, and HyFins and... You hope youll never need one. Forever the boy scout, I carry a set of these in my range bag and another in a blowout kit for when Im hunting with friends. You never know. Cheap insurance.

I have not used these chest seals in real life, though the compact size seems to be a more than sufficient size despite its compact title. The compact version fits much more easily into my small medical kit. For what its worth, the full-size version carries a NATO serial number (NSN), while compact does. Bottom-line, I believe that the compact version will likely work just as effectively as a full-size version while being more easily stowable.

I’m LEO used the older bigger packaging version on a gunshot victim (9mm), victim was having issues breathing (possible lung collapse). Only entry wound no exit, applied it and seemed to help- just basing it off his reaction. Pros- super easy to apply and very sticky even with blood, was so sticky i having issues trying to unstick my gloves to it when I apply it it.

Great size have not tested in a real emergency but keep in my first aid kit just Incase.

Ive got a couple of small rip away pouches that are way too small to accommodate regular full size chest seals. These compact deals are perfect.

Hard to write a review for Hy-Fin Chest Seal as its not something for immediate use. Arrived earlier than expected, in good shape. Im satisfied with the product I received.

This is the third set of these Ive ordered Ive now got them in all of my trauma kits. The compact version fits so much better than the full size in an IFAK
