> 3 dayIve been a fan of a well lit garage for almost a decade so Ive been buying higher performance bulbs to outfit the garage for a while. I used to do fine high-gloss finishing in my garage, and now I restore stainless steel... both applications require above average lighting as an essential. Why all the good reviews? This is much better than what a lot of people would be used to in a garage, but for me it was a total dud. I actually preferred the lighting of a 23w 2605 Lumen LED I had (better lighting at less than 1/2 the brightness?), and in my estimation it was only about 15-20% as bright as my 125w 16,250 Lumen bulb by RuggedGrade despite the claim of being 6,000 Lumens which should be closer to 37% as bright if the specs were honest. Instant on is the only good thing I can say about this bulb; its driver time is almost zero... I tried it in 3,000K 60w (which said 3,000-3,500K on the box... a range to color temperature doesnt exactly scream quality does it) and I also tried it in 4,000K once that got delivered a few days later and I returned them both. The definition of objects was very bad (worse than the 23w comp), and the shape of this bulb makes no sense without a diffuser when compared to a corn bulb which gives an evenness of lighting that is night and day w/ this piece of crap design. The LEDs are pointing only 3 directions which I think was the primary reason this thing gives such unpleasant and uneven lighting compared to the cheaper and more expensive comparisons I tested. I recommend 2,700-3,000K color temp for lighting... the long waves of slightly yellow light travel farther (think of bass vs. treble), and bluer lights are rumored to mess w/ serotonin and thus reduce sleep quality and thus reduced productivity. Especially for higher ceilings, consider a warmer color in this 2,700-3,000K range. Furthermore, anything over 3,000K looks like a vampire movie and simply looks terrible in my opinion the higher you go. Anyway, my lighting needs are certainly more demanding than most so hopefully that gives a little weight in the crowd of reviews, so below are my top two recommendations depending mostly on your garage ceiling height. Im very impressed by the performance and quality of RuggedGrade brand, so these recommendations are both RuggedGrade products. 60-watt option recommended for standard height garages (standard E26 base screws right in, 3,000K): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071F8BL28/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=AIXJWGOWBG1TH&psc=1 Recommendation for 15+ ceilings or 1 fixture garages (NOTE: requires an E26 Male to E39 Female adapter... this thing is a MONSTER that eats other monsters for breakfast so it comes standard w/ an outdoor 39mm Edison base and even a lanyard!!! Thats right, a lanyard! Still, it is fanless and cool to the touch due to the design.): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0776YCLD9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I think more people would be much happier w/ the cheaper 60w corn bulb (top link) because it isnt so bright and requires no adapter for install like the 125w option. Summary: Corn bulb good... 3-leaf design bad. This product does not perform compared to options of similar cost. If people had tried a standard good quality corn bulb first, Im confident this product would not have very good reviews. Quick plug: Michael Knowles pod cast. Thanks for reading.

Greater than one weekThese started out fine with lots of light . After a few months individual panels went out, now one is out completely. Nor anywhere near the hours they state in their ad .

19-11-2024Did not have much chance to use it, just received it. Fairly strong light, well made. Arrived in badly damaged box - but it wasnt shipping problem. Amazons box was intact, only the lamp packaging inside was smashed. But thankfully it works, so it is ok. Still, should not ship damaged product as brand new for full price. Hence 1 star less. Will see how long it will last.
