> 3 dayThe headline almost says it all, people. For those of you out there who are unaware, my husband is a commercial cabinetmaker. He uses a lot of shims. A LOT of shims. So, when it comes to them, he knows what he’s talking about. When I told him his shims had arrived, he just kind of shrugged and acknowledged me. A few hours went by, when out of nowhere, I heard him exclaim, “These are really good shims,” and he has since told me more than once I “need to give those shims a really good review.” So, here it is, people. A really good review of these shims. Which brings me to the… Bottom line: hubby is impressed, and he does not impress easily. Highly, highly recommended.

> 3 dayThis 84-pack of 8-inch shims comes in a box that can be continued to use for storage as you are using the shims. This is a bonus compared to plastic wrap that when opened you have a bunch of loose shims all around. The shims are a standard size you would expect unless you were looking for door shims. These are contractor grade shims and are comparable to what I used in the past. The angle on them is good. The shims go to taper to a height between 1/4+ to 5/16. Most of the shims measured to 7-13/16. I did count 84 shims in the box as well. If you need shims, this is a decent set.

> 3 dayI had an idea to use wooden shims for roofing on one of my paintings. They are perfect. The wood can be stained, trimmed...whatever I want. Perfect...five stars.

> 3 dayIts a box of wood shims. They are wood, and they shim. I use shims regularly on a number of different projects at home so this box will be great. I wont be worried about running out of shims for awhile.

> 3 dayAfter ordering this box of 84 wood shims, I dont think Ill have to buy more for a long time. I dont use wood shims that often, but its good to have a supply on hand since they are useful for a variety of purposes. These seem to be good quality shims. The only negative is that the wood is rougher than the shims I normally buy. So its more likely that you could end up with a splinter in your hand if youre not careful. You might want to wear gloves just to protect your hands when using these. But otherwise they are fine and I think this bundle is a good value considering how many you get.

> 3 dayGood pack of shims. Easy to break. It says rot and split resistant on the box.

> 3 daySome of the shims have a pointy edge like the should but a lot of them are somewhat thick at the point edge. Better to get siding shingles and cut the to size.

> 3 dayI kind of love and hate these shims. Lol. On one hand, they are very hard and rigid...much more so than either standard cedar or plastic. This is a definite plus in terms of durability. On the other hand, they dont break off easily. This makes them a little more difficult to work with. This is the only reason I deducted one star. In the final analysis, though, durability is probably the more important factor when constructing something thats intended to last. All in all, this is a good product.
