Honestly, I didnt know that something like this existed so I havent tried the competition, but if youre looking for something that will get the oil up, this is it. I had an oil spill in the bilge on my boat and was struggling to get out the last cups worth of oil. These rags and a little bit of Dawn detergent and its shiny clean! Dont hesitate.

My only exposure to spill mats or clean up mats are the Pig version so I have no comparison to others. I do know that the Pig mats absorb a lot of fluid. I cleaned up a oil spill containment pallet and these worked very well and worked great using a degreaser to get the pallet spotless.
