Im mainly going to list off the pros for this unit, something I like that they did on this generation compared to the other consoles by Nintendo and some gripes. Portability obviously with its docking capabilities - very good move. The way the Switch locates itself within the dock is a cool party trick. I like not having to have a rucksack full of gear just to bring my system with. The Joy-Con controllers are passable and you can actually play 2P games with each one. I do wish they offered a Pro-controller bundled version. The setup of the system is easy, you dont have to fill out another mortgage worth of EULAs to play. For pennies you get a slew of NES and SNES games through Nintendo Online. Mario Maker 2 is pretty fun and I wished more games had BYO levels like it (cue the wave of gamers that will correct me on 20+ games that have their own world-building options. Im 43 and dont have time for games like I did in my teens. Let me dip my filthy casual toe back in the game pool now that my kids are grown.)

The ability to swap from dock to handheld still amazes me to this day. The library of games is crazy good, The battery life isnt bad, and the build is fairly durable. The screen is prone to scratching due to it being plastic, but a $10 screen protector fixes that easily. The controllers do go bad over time. I would recommend also purchasing a pro controller due to it having a better feel for me personally and they last far longer than any Joycon Ive had. This purchase date was for my sister but Ive had mine since near release and have gone through 3 pairs of Joycon, meanwhile my oldest pro controller (between 4 or 5 years) of the 3 I currently have has only shown slight signs of degradation. There is a Nintendo tax on some games which basically means they cost more than they would on other consoles (e.g. Borderlands collection I got on pc for like $20 where as the switch is charging $50 for games released between 2009-2014 so that you can play them on graphically worse hardware, but the portable part may be worth it for some people with certain games). The online services are really bad a lot of the time especially when playing with people who are far away or have otherwise unstable connections. Playing with random people online can be a very painstaking process a lot of the time. With all this being said, I love this console. It is the only console I use (I also have a pc and a ps4). I only look at it so critically due to how much I love it. If I didnt spend hours and hours using this thing I wouldnt be telling you all its flaws in a 4-star review. It can be frustrating sometimes, but the exclusives are amazing (there are also a lot of great 3rd party games but I mainly mean that BOTW is a masterpiece and Mario Odyssey is phenomenal) and the home console and handheld idea is honestly incredible. I basically wrote an essay about this thing to tell you how much I love it.

Nintendos handheld genius has matched their console experiments to create the Switch. I use it mostly in handheld mode but docking it is seamless. It has a lot of games for me to enjoy, a lot of games for non-gamers to enjoy, and games that entire groups can enjoy. It feels like the best console Ive ever owned. Between the Nintendo 1st party titles like the amazing Zeldas (Breath of the Wild and Links Awakening) the many top-notch indie games that are flooding the Nintendo shop (Gris, Transistor, Indivisible) - Im a content gamer. I have a PS4 and would play their amazing library of games intermittently. However, the Switchs library has caused my game time to exponentially increase. You would only do yourself a favour by buying it.

My new Nintendo Switch was shipped from the US but came with an overseas A/C adapter that I can’t use.

I bought this as a present for my niece and she loves it, as do I. This is the first video game system that I have played since the Nintendo Wii. The graphics and motion controls have gotten so much better since then! We love playing games like animal crossing, Ring FIt, and Legend of Zelda! It has been a lot of fun to get back into video gaming and introduce video gaming to my niece as this is her first system. Im very happy I bought this.

Arrived intact. Works fine. But disappointed that it doesnt come with any games.

The switch is a great console. if you want to read a review of it read some other ones. I want to talk about the seller PartyPieces inc. The switch is sold out everywhere right now. I was able to find this one listed with a 7-day shipping turnaround ( versus months like other listings ). Im happy to say it took only one day extra for me to receive the product. eight days total.
