I put 4 of these fans in my new build in order to achieve that nice PWM fan curve. When my system isnt under any load or I am just on chrome or discord, whisper quiet, dont even hear my computer. When they need to ramp up though they cool my system very well under load. The high price tag is worth it in my opinion since they come with that classic Noctua quality and a 6 year warranty!

I am only able to hear the air whooshing and it was very easy to install.

The first thing that should be addressed is that some people are saying these fans are noisy at high speed. I have these fans in a NZXT S340 cooling a radiators in a custom loop running 24/7 with a 3080 FE running at full load (as it is mining). The VRAM in the 3080 stock running at full load can readily reach 110C. In a water cooled loop that drops to mid 80s low 90s depending on ambient temps.

Default bios configuration is very powerful with excessive dB, but still delivers great performance when set to a slower config.

Bought Noctua fan and received a fractal fan on a Noctua box without rubber anti-vibration pads

These fans are absolutely fantastic. I replaced my 120MM arctic intake fans with these and they are way quieter, faster, and just over all amazing. The fans bring in excellent airflow and have made my system much more cooler.

As you can see from the pictures I am using these fans (several of them in different sizes) on a custom all - air cooled build. (Asus Hero MB, Intel 12800K and Nvidia 3090 and this Corsair 1000d case is dead silent and runs only a few degrees over ambient in the few hours a day it is used for gaming.

Ive been away from building custom computers for a couple years, but used to always use Noctua fans and coolers by default in most of my builds, due to their performance and noise levels. I recently built a new rig, and have been replacing the stock case fans with Noctuas. I was so glad to see that there were now black fans instead of the horrible coagulated blood milk vomit shades theyve only offered over the years.

These babies are quiet, probably quieter than the 120mm fans if you have the choice.
