Noctua NF-A8 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (80mm, Brown)

Greater than one weekI installed this fan as replacements in two of my HP desktop computers with fans (both Cooler Masters) that had failed at nearly the same time. (planned obsolescence?) The Noctua NF-A8 PWM fans came with more than enough additional hardware, mounting options and electrical connections to facilitate replacement. I removed the old fans and heat-sinks. Cleaned mating surfaces of CPUs and heat-sinks and applied fresh thermal compound (Noctua NT-H1) and reassembled to motherboards. Both replacements performed perfectly and were very quiet as well as efficient. Both PCs run 54 watt Intel i3 CPUs and average temps are 28C at idle per Core Temp app, and never exceed 57C while under load test. I am well pleased. A great value for a reasonably priced fan with superior performance.

> 3 dayLoved their care they put into packaging and attention to detail. Ordered 2x 80mm fan for my mini itx and it works wonderfully. silent and keeps my case cool as exhaust fans.

09-06-2025Put in a Honeywell fan enclosure to replace the existing 80mm which the bearings went out on. This is working as it should. I expect it being Noctua to last a while. Very low noise compared to the stock fan.

> 3 dayI bought a Dell 3880 and its a great little system... EXCEPT THE CPU FAN IS TOO NOISY. If youre in a quiet environment then you will almost certainly notice the noise.

> 3 dayI had a bit of a nerve-wracking experience installing it -mostly due to the high stakes (it is my cpu, after all!) and lack of experience. But everything I needed was there and since installing it Ive largely forgotten its even there.

Greater than one weekAhhh, quiet. Replaced the stock fans on my radio & power supply and no more background fan noise.

> 3 dayGood fan, its more or less silent, you cant hear it thats for sure. Good quality. Utterly horrible color scheme, tan and brown, nice.

> 3 dayThis is the quietest fan Ive ever used - dead silent, in fact; however, the reason its so quiet is that it doesnt spin. When the computer starts, the fan spins for less than a second then does nothing, no matter how warm the computer gets. Ive tried several other fans on the same MB header, all work. The other fans are noisier than Id like, which is why I ordered this one. If, however, the tradeoff for a quieter computer is overheating, Ill endure the noise.
