Ortofon Replacement Stylus OM 5e

Ruined the stylus in our move and wanted the same one again. Good overall performance and installed in just moments....let the spinning begin again!

Its a pretty good sounding needle upgrade for the pro cartridge. Save the pro needle for beater yard sale records.

I purchased this replacement stylus for my older Ortofon 5E cartridge. The replacement fits rather loosely in the cartridge And actually came completely out while I was playin an LP. At times the stylus does not pick up the left channel due it not fitting tightly. If I reposition the stylus it again picks up both channels for a while. If thecstylus fit properly in the cartridge I would be happy with the product.

this was an exact replacement for the stylus the came on my Pro-ject turntable. works just like the original. sounds good on my Debut lll.

I just got this stylus and have only played one record with it, but I think its going to work for what I need it to do, and that is mellow-out a pair of older bookshelf speakers (EPI Series 3 Model 70) that tend to favor the high-end. I bought the 5e on the recommendation that it enhances the bass and lower ends a little more than the OM10 that came stock on my Pro-Ject Essential III turntable. Theres no knock against the OM10 as it performs beautifully still on my OTHER Essential III (yes, I have two). Was really looking for an affordable stylus to switch to without having to go through the cartridge replacement routine (I chickened out). I think with a little wear-in time Im going to hear beautiful results.
