Greater than one weekThese post bases are legit. Very heavy duty, thick steel. I recently used some similar bases from the big box store and they were like tinfoil compared to these. These are easy to assemble and attach to the post since the footer and each side are all separate pieces that lock together when you attach them to the post. Big posts tend to be slightly irregular in width and depth, not to mention differences in dimensions between milled vs rough cut lumber. This base adapts to all of that without compromising either the integrity or appearance of the finished work. We’ve used these bases with 8x8s, 6x6s, 4x6s, and 4x4s. The 8x8 ones were installed outdoors almost a year ago and they look just as good today as when they were new. Very impressed by the quality of this product.

> 3 dayThe first thing that I noticed when my two base kits arrived was how heavy each box was. These are solid, heavy duty pieces of metal that fit together to form a super solid base for the end posts of a stair rail off of my deck. The quality of the pieces are worth 5 stars - the only reason that I knocked off a star was the price...at $55 each, they seemed to be on the high side to me, but they do have a niche market, so I guess they can stick any price tag that theyd like on them.

> 3 dayI bought 8 of these Post Base Kits for a new pergola I am building. These are heavy-duty, easy to install, and add character to my 6x6 Cedar posts. The actual dimensions of my posts range from 5.8 to 6.1 inches, and these adjustable kits fit them all perfectly. All the hardware is included; no plastic parts - all metal. Competitors kits may be slightly less expensive, but do not include the screws with decorative Bolt-head caps. These are more economical when you consider that those eight screws and accessories are included.
