I used it to scan about 150 old family photos, quickly with no fuss. And I found it worked as well without the included sleeve as with, admittedly the sleeve helps ensure the image is straight. Im really pleased with it, so far.

Wondered if anybody else was having problems after cleaning the rollers. Ive scanned approximately 150-200 photos, stopped to use canned air & wipe the rollers with the cloth provided. Now there is a definite line across all photos. I was careful to not apply too much pressure when cleaning & dont know whats wrong or if it can be fixed. Im bummed because this was the easiest & fastest scanner to use!! Hope its not beyond repair...

The best scanner Ive ever used for photos. I tried to scan many old pictures on a flatbed scanner, and it was taking forever. What a waste of time and effort. I was able to scan 300 pictures in less than an hour at the highest resolution. I did see a white line when I first scanned without cleaning it, but once I cleaned the scanner all the photos were scanned perfectly. I have thousands of old family photos to work on, and Im looking forward to it.

I got this for my mom to scan all of our old family photos. It works really well and it is pretty quick to use. It is really fast if you use it on the lower quality setting but still pretty quick on they high quality setting too. I didnt find much of a difference between the lower and higher settings but would suggest using the higher quality setting if you are scanning older photos of wanting to make a picture bigger.

Well, after reading all of the reviews, I bought this scanner anyway. It arrived on time. Packaging was quite good (wasnt thrown in the box but taped to the box so it would get damaged.) Set-up was easy. The scans worked nicely for about the first 50 photos and then I started getting the dreaded white lines. I cleaned as directed, calibrated as directed and the next 10 photos worked nicely. After that the lines appear again. I repeated the process; clean, calibrate, scan. Ten or more images scanned and then white lines. So here I am, not quite sure what to do. I have about 1,000 more photos to scan and it doesnt seem practical to have to clean after 10 images each time. The cleaning device seems inadequate. Has anyone used something different to clean this that works better?

This is my 2nd Pandigital Photo Scanner. I love the job it does up to about 1000 photos and then after that much use the roller inside geets a streak from use and it causes all the photos to have that streak and there is nothing you can do to clean it and make it function again. I would probably buy another one, but wish there was a scanner made that would allow taking apart and cleaning properly so it would continue to operate like it does at the start of use.

I was skeptical based on what some of the reviewers stated about white lines. I received mine today at 1:00 in the afternoon. After 4 1/2 hours, I scanned all 1024 photos my mom gave me years ago. I am planning on giving a DVD to my mom, one to my dad (they are divorced) and one to my grandmother for Christmas so that they can play the photos off of their DVD player like the electronic photo frames but better! It was great looking through all the old photos from my parents marriage (they are no longer married) and family memories with members of the family who are no longer with us. This scanner is 100% worth it in my opinion. I was surprised at how fast the process went. And to get started, it took less than 5 minutes to read the quick start guide, put in my 4GB SD card and start scanning.

I use this scanner every day to scan invoices, receipts, bills and other important papers. I toss all the unwanted paper and it feels good not to have to use a large file cabinet. All the really important documents that I keep (after scanning), I put into a small portable file box. There is a slot on the unit, just like the smaller version, for scanning slides and negatives. However, I cant get my negative adaptor to work with this unit. Has the adaptor changed, or is it different than the one for the small unit? My smaller unit is still working, so I just use it to scan the negatives and slides.

So far Ive scanned a couple hundred pictures of different sizes and the scanner works great! Update: After scanning another hundred or so pictures a couple of white lines started appearing on the scans. I ran the calibration page through the unit several times but that didnt work. I gave up after working with it for an hour. At this point I would probably return it if I hadnt discarded the box. Its a shame, too, because the concept is awesome and saves lots of time compared to a flat bed scanner.

once I figured out how to widen it, the scanning has been amazing. from old 3x3 photos to 8x10 documents, Ive been able to scan everything. I forgot about the sleeve for tiny things until looking at other reviews. I put in the memory card and then installed scan2pc and connected the USB so Ive been scanning everything to my computer. some of the thicker pictures dont want to go, and if the paper is crinkled, I just scan from the bottom and turn it around in photo editor. I couldnt be happier and so far, none of the white lines mentioned. no matter where you insert the picture, it just scans that - no white space around it so that was cool.
