I upgraded to this one after purchasing the cheapest one I could find on this site. It lasted a year or so but broke with pretty light use. This is built to last. I mounted it to my workbench and have plenty of clearance. I did a fork tune up and it held the bike at a 60 degree angle with no problem. I was a little worried about the clearance issues, but I have about 2 between my pedal and the edge of my workbench. Really happy I upgraded. Wish I would have just bought this one to begin with.

So much easier to service bikes on this that a race stand. Stable for a variety of bike - did not try e-bike

Super sturdy and inconspicuous. Perfect for a work bench. Easily adjustable.

If you use this vise to clamp on to the seat tube beware because if the frame moves down (vise moves toward the top tube) while in use you will not be able to loosen the cam handle as the cam handle will hit the top tube. The clamp jaws should be longer to maintain clearance for cam handle rotation.

I bolted the stand to a piece of 4x6 that I can clamp in one of several vices I have. Works very well, grabs kids, road, mountain and e-bikes well. The rotate feature is well designed, and all critical parts are sturdy metal. Totally worth the investment.

I have 8 bike riders in my house. Always wanted a bike stand. Just didnt want to spend $300+. Happy to find this for less than $200. Paid $179. No more hanging bikes from the rafters in the garage. I chose the PCS-12.2 over the other Park Tools clamp offerings for the following reasons: 1) I wanted a stand that was all metal. Other offerings anywhere near the same price have some plastic. Though, Im sure theyre good quality plastic. 2) I wanted a stand that would hold the bike sufficiently away from the workbench. 3) Price. I also wanted a removable clamp and that could be easily removed to be out of the way when not using it. However, the offering near this price point, violated one of the above criterion. Very happy to find this new model. The cut aways on the top and bottom of the clamp to avoid cables are awesome and I believe common to all Park Tools stands. I was a little confused when I marked the holes on the work bench to mount it and noticed they werent in a square pattern. Looks like there might be some variability in the bottom plate holes. Funny, because I read the same thing with the other more expensive stands. It would appear they have a bad template at the factory. No biggy. Im sure this will last longer than I will. Highly recommended for anyone who works on their own bike and already has a workbench.

Unless you are a pro mechanic servicing multiple bikes daily, this Park Tool stand is more than enough for home mechanic needs. It has a wide range of mobility and clamping and it is very sturdy mounted on my bench top. About half the price of the “pro” model.
