> 3 dayThis is definitely something that you can make yourself, but I needed it in a hurry because I adopted a rescued pigeon. She needed a couple for her crate and this was really good. I do wish that it was a little bit bigger, longer. But that’s OK because she seems to like it and sleeps nightly on this perch.

Greater than one weekThis is a solid shelf, and rather large. Works great for my handicapped Indian Rignecks cage.

Greater than one weekthe shelf wood is so thin that it sags towards the cage floor even when tightened up as much as possible. had a large split in the wood when it arrived and expect that section will either split right off or splinter - no good for pets. The wood is also unfinished, so if you cover it with paper towels or what not, and they slip and animal poops/pees on shelf - you now have permanently stained shelf. and the hardware is cheap, too. Neeed something fast and it did arrive fast - but buying a sturdy one from another seller on another site, because this one is a throwaway.

> 3 dayMy cockatiel likes to sit on it all the time and uses it as a giant toy to chew on but could be a little easier to clean when she poops on it it has a green stain in it from 1 poop but that’s ok doesn’t effect the use of it and she loves it so idc 5 star

> 3 dayWriting this review using my husbands account. I got my bird because he looked sad when I first saw him. And I wanted to give him a chance. But hes weak, despite having a mighty apetite. I noticed he would rest on the cage floor. I felt so bad, it must have been cold. I quickly ordered this. Sometimes I place him on this perch myself but often times he can get to it himself. He sleeps there every night. And I truly believe it helps him maintain some of his energy instead of holding on to the stick perches. I have to keep it clean because of poop so every other day I clean and disinfect it. With a rag and soapy water. Sometimes I use something to scrape off the poop first then use the rag. Or else it looks like a gross soapy mess. I recommend this for a weak bird. If you have stick perches in the cage, keep them lower than this one if you want them to sleep on this. Birds tend to like to sleep in the highest place they can. It makes them feel safe. Although if you only plan to use this to prevent them from sleeping on the cage floor, place this not too high so they dont expend too much energy trying to get to it. I notice sometimes he doesnt bother to get to it so I lower it a little. Or I help him. Hope this helped.

Greater than one weekLove this shelf. It was easy to sand the edges to a rounded shspe so my 35 year old parrot would not hurt herself on an edge when falling. However, I had to remove it from her cage because she is afraid of it.
