This stuff works great in the microwave. Ive just gotten a new microwave and bowl cozies were suddenly VERY necessary. This product was ideal. The product is very safe since it doesnt have the sprayed-on scrim of other batting, but you have to be careful because it is more likely to stretch during quilting. I used 2 layers in all my cozies, but you might be able to use only 1 if you have a lower powered microwave. The amount in a package isnt what youd get in other batting, but thats because it is designed for a specific purpose. You can still get a LOT of projects out of 1 package. I got 8 cozies of 2 sizes (10 and 11) out of one package - with plenty of leftovers. The price of the package is great. Its 3 times less than in the craft stores (major chain store) near me. Ive bought extra packages for the possibility of future use, and I highly recommend it.

I use this product on all my bowl cozies with 100% cotton fabric. Some of the other battings/fabrics contain metal components & can blow your microwave away! Ask my neighbor!!!...lol

Ordered 4 packages to make bowl cozys. This was my first time making them and working with this batting. The batting was uneven in some spots. On one package it was if they attached two pieces together to get the correct size making it very thick in that area. Made me wonder if these were seconds.
