This is a great filter system that works very effectively. The bio sponge fits nicely in the tray and when cleaned properly will last a long time. I change mine about every 6 months and clean it every 2 months. I have mine filtering a 45 gallon and the water parameters have remained perfect.

Works great on my 55g cichlid tank. Water changes are far more infrequent.
