As long as you line up the ½ hardware cloth pieces that are to be joined there is no problem. If the pieces of ½ hardware cloth is askew you may need to trim the edges of each clip curl with a tin-snip. I suggest that you use the red-handle heavy duty clip pliers that are also sold on Amazon. For me, they worked much better than the lighter, blue-handled, clip pliers. Using these clips and the red-handled red pliers I have been able to put together 3 very large predator-proof, completely enclosed areas for the 4-H duck project for our daughter. These enclosures are 6 to 7 foot high and range from 8 to 12 foot deep and 12 to 15 foot wide. These clips and the heavy duty pliers took a short learning curve to master. Next Spring we are enclosing a duck grazing area 30 feet by 100 feet up to 8 foot high with the ½ hardware cloth. We will cover the open top area with a finer metal mesh to keep raptors out. To date our enclosures have foiled raccoon and coyote completely. The ½ hardware cloth and these clips work well together. I will buy this again next Spring !

I was looking for connectors to use with heavy duty netting that I use to protect the blueberries from birds and these clips did the trick. In the past I tried using wire ties, zip ties and tape and always had problems with each. This clip is easy to apply after you learn to make sure both panels of the netting are in the curved end of the clip before crimping. I was worried that the clips might cut through the netting during high winds, but that problem did not happen during two very windy days shortly after I installed the new netting this spring. I am not sure if it would work as well on the light netting that is sold in most garden centers. I will continue to monitor how well it holds over the summer and repost if we experience any issues.

These worked just awesome on the carport we caged in for my raised bed to keep the critters out. They are rugged and crimp really nice with the crimping tool on here.
