I bought these and they are essentially an improved replacement for the original vive vr controllers. They are better than the original in a lot of ways but be warned they dont have a joystick and use trackpads. It does work with pretty much all VR software and is comfortable. The battery is replaceable which is great.

Heard about the hardware of the finger tracking is fine but Pimax team is still working on the software yet, hope its coming soon. A bit disappointed that the Sword hasnt a thumb stick, but its still a good Index alternatively.

Nice controller but using track pads awkward when trying to use top part of pads. Can see now why some would prefer thumb stick instead.

After many trials and comparisons between the Swords and the Index controllers, Id say that the Index beats them by a few points. Here are the differences between the two: • Swords have interchangeable batteries that are easy to find in Amazon • I couldnt try the finger tracking because its not available yet (hopefully soon) • Trackpads are finicky and a lil hard to get used to • Swords do not weight enough to realize youve been doing long beatsaber sessions TL;DR If you can get Index controllers, go for those. If you wanna try something new with almost all functions as the index controllers, give these a try

These controllers are top of the line. Ive tried the index controllers as well and these are easier to hold and not activate the middle finger trigger button.

The Sword controllers seems to be a combination of Oculus, Vive, and the Valves controllers. Its has Oculuss easy to hold handles, and its light weight dynamics,. It has Valves knuckle straps that keep my fingers free for when I have to do something else with my hands such as adjust settings on the computer, but the controllers are too small for Adult men’s hands and it doesnt have finger tracking. Pimax Controllers also has Vives track pad instead of Thumb joystick controllers. Which was a BIG mistake. The track pads are annoying and too sensitive when playing most games. My finger sometimes brush against part of the track pad by accident causing me to move in the game when I didnt mean to. I cannot understand for the life of me… why Pimax put a track pad on their sword controllers instead of Thumb Joysticks like Valve Index and Oculus Quest. Movement is much more precise with Thumb Joysticks, and the directional buttons are separated from the press(ENTER) buttons. These Controllers are practically trash.

This is an unusual set of controllers for a VR system, but it has been the most comfortable set of controllers that I own. The outer coating does feel both strong and soft to the touch which makes it comfortable for use with games that I played for hours at a time. The back elastic was very easy to adjust that after a while, I stopped realizing that they were on and wondered how the controllers stayed in hand when I tried to let go, swing violently in Beat Saber, or threw objects in VR Chat. The only thing that took time to adjust to, was the TouchPad movement for games. I say this because after I adjusted to not using the joy sticks, I was able to stretch my thumb further and would at times roll it when I tried to push a button. This shows a brilliant innovative way to prevent drifting in the future and look forward to using these for more intense games in the future.

Was able to pair these with my Index pretty easily - just held the button till it entered pairing mode and they were found almost immediately. Love that the battery is replaceable in case it dies. I do find them comfortable but they dont feel overly secure to me. With Beat Saber I constantly feel like they are going to go flying and the elastic that secures them doesnt feel tight enough for me. I have thin hands but long fingers so they are the size of your average male hand (the same size as my partners hands except he has sausage fingers haha). Both of us felt the same insecurity while playing Beat Saber. For other games I quite like them but for fast movement I just cant focus on the game because Im too worried about losing them. Maybe with more time Ill get used to that but for now Ill keep using the original Index controllers for Beat Saber at least.

An Honest Opinion about these controllers is that in my opinion, these are modernized Vive Wands but with more features. Removable Battery Packs and USB-C Charging in an ergonomic design makes these controllers ideal for those like myself who want to do gestures in games like VRChat a lot easier. The only caveat to these controllers is that its an adjustment curve if you recently swapped over from using Vive Wands. The only other complaint is that the controllers in my honest opinion need something like a pull tab to remove the battery packs. I messed up one of my controllers battery pins because I oriented the battery in the wrong way and as I was wedging it out I bent the pins in the controller. I would recommend these if you want a decent replacement to the clunky design of the original Vive Controllers.
