Im not sure what thickness has to do with this product. I rinse it off in cold water for about a minute or more. It isnt smooth but a bit textured, like pottery before being glazed. When I put it into my fish tank, it started to release something into the water, like tiny bubbles of something. I thought odd, left it for a minute thinking it will calm down. It didnt. I pulled it out. Within 15 mins my filter light started blinking, meaning change the filter. This was after only 24hrs in use. It definitely had to be changed. I take it as that decor mucked up the water. Within 8 hours of putting this decor in, one of my Mollies died & the other 2 were struggling. The 2 struggling ones are doing fine now.

I like how this fake rock has a real feel. The way it is made it fools the fish and they are constantly stealing ownership from each other

Easy to clean, never fades, and doesnt introduce particles or flakes in the water. Great price and solid material.

You should purchase your fish homes only from Pleco ceramics!!!!!!!! Their products are the best. Except quality. I love how realistic they look. All of my tanks have a more natural theme to them and so these look absolutely perfect. I love all 5 yes 5 of my ceramic hides for my aquatic friends. I am so proud to be a Pleco ceramics owner. I originally was looking for a cave for my Apistograma which has been having some territory disputes in my tank, but a smaller cave worked out. That left my other Cichlid who lives alone in his tank. He had a plastic tree trunk house, but I have been wanting a ceramic one to give him. This was perfect. HOW DOES THIS COME? This came well protected in a box and well cushioned. HOW TO PREPARE I washed this off really well before putting in the tank. HOW DOES THIS WORK OUT? At first our Demasoni cichlid was upset looking for his other house. However, after about a day, he took a trip into this house and has been using it ever since. It is a tight fit, but he seems to like it. PHOTO I got a photo of our cichlid in his house for you. I hope you can see it. THE BOTTOM LINE This is great ceramic house for a pleco or cichlid. I prefer it over plastic as plastic leaches into the tank over time and I like ceramic more. MY RATING FIVE STARS. This has great varieties of holes in the ceramic house. IT has plenty of spy places for fish to look out of and is great especially for cichlids, but all of the fish do like to fly through now and then in these caves.

My corys loved this product however, do be careful if you have bigger fish, I had an angelfish that got stuck in one of the holes and I had to break the decoration to save the angelfish.

I actually got this for one of my snakes, and he LOVES it! Theres multiple openings to this rock hide and it seems to be fun for him (hognose snake) to crawl through. If you are getting it for a snake, be sure it is for a smaller species so that they dont get stuck in the openings. Male hognose snakes, male rosy boas, and garter snakes would all enjoy this, and juvenile snakes as well. It would probably work well for dart frogs and small tree frogs too! I removed a star because the edges are not well painted, making it look less realistic in my opinion.

This is a nice little cave-like system that is great for fish that prefer that kind of setup. I threw it in my sons 20-gallon tank and so far its been a nice little addition. The only issue I have with it is the fact its a bit on the large size! While Im not a huge fan of this thing in a 20 gallon, this would be perfect for a 36 gallon or larger! Im going to end up moving it when I find something better, but in the meantime, this is really nice. His tank has plecos and I hear they love those structures. Well see. I dont really see his tank all that often, but when I go up, theres always something hanging out. Seems very sturdy and I made sure to boil it first just in case. No issues.

We had a new fish that just loves to hide. We needed a place for him that the larger fish couldnt get into and this worked like a charm.

Beautiful pleco cave with some nice detailing. I centered this in my tank for my pleco baby to claim as his own. Its a popular hangout for him, the betta sorority and my giant apple snail. Everyone loves the cave, and I will definitely purchase more of these for other tanks.
