The game was NOT in the box. Just an empty case. There was also no plastic wrapper on the case.

I should start off saying I’m biased, I started off playing the originals and still have a working gameboy with curly q light that I hope stays working till I have children so they too can enjoy this world. Now for the review at the time of this writing I’ve got about 20+ hours or so in and it’s great! The graphics are quite pleasing and the game is smooth as butter on a hot July day, my only real complaints (and it’s mostly me being picky) are the interaction with Pokémon Go and being able to catch/ transfer some of those Pokémon into your play through. One it takes quite awhile to progress through the game before you can even do it and second it’s kind of a pain in the rear. My other issue is with the scaling when it comes to riding some of the Pokémon, I received an Arcanine from an in game NPC after answering a series of questions (easy enough) but once I pulled out the Pokémon it covers half of the darn screen! Now I had not connected my switch to a television when dealing with this so it may scale appropriately on a TV or monitor but on the handheld it’s simply way too much. All in all the game is wonderful and brings back many memories and has created more in the process. I wish the best of luck to all fellow trainers!

Game case was cracked with pieces of plastic falling off once unwrapped.

The biggest surprise was that you still battle with your pokemon as I heard you didnt battle anymore in this version. You still battle all the trainers and gym leaders. The difference between this and the main line games is that you do not fight the wild pokemon to catch them, and the pokemon show up on the map. This helps as you can go around the pokemon you do not want to catch and focus on the rare pokemon. It is also fun having the second character. They do not have the same presence as player1, so cannot start battles and captures, but you can catch and battle together and player 2 can run into pokemon to stop them from moving. Overall this was a very fun game and I hope they create more games like this or add DLC. I would definitely get another game of this type. maybe sword and shield will have a mode like this, that would be great.

I loved it because she loves playing it! It also was one of the harder ones to get but I did get it in time for Christmas! Thanks
