Opened and closed it about fifty times while we Face-timed so the mechanism stands up to a lot of use. Very cute when it is open, a great way to give a little autonomy to a kid whos old enough, and make it easier for the adult walking around with them in the rain! Folds down easily for storage. Cant overstate the cuteness, I think this is a great and useful gift for a kid.
