> 3 dayAlways a gamble restoring a 20 year old tool. Always a gamble purchasing repair parts that could have been laying around a hot warehouse or because of their age dry rotted and useless. Happily that was NOT the case with this. The random orbit function of my 333 porter cable sander stopped working. Taking it apart I found an old broken belt. FYI for those contemplating something similar. If you are going thru the motions, just get another Velcro sanding pad while youre at it and thank me later. Also check to see if the pulley spins easily (photo); mine was gummed up with sanding residue and wouldnt turn which is what caused my belt to burn up. (NOTE IT IS LEFT HAND THREAD- TURN TO THE RIGHT TO LOOSEN!!!). Otherwise your will strip out the cast aluminum housing. Put a dab of Dry Lube like Teflon or Graphite (not petroleum based) on the screw and bearing of this pulley. Restoration projects like rarely work out for me but this is a good, relatively old school random orbit with some weight and motion to it and was worth the chance. It is ALIVE now! Yay!
