I was so pleasantly surprised with this convertible carry-on bag/backpack. It is nicely compact for storage and with the expansion option, opens up large enough to hold all I would need for a weekend trip with an easy to carry option or straps to make it a backpack. Everything is laid out perfectly with this bag. The first photo is the overall view from the front. Second photo shows the nice detail provided on the side pocket for a water bottle with the elastic sewn in (it is on both sides) to make sliding your bottle in easy. Such a simple but appreciated addition! Third and fifth photos show open view of the bag unzipped with the extra bags on the right hand side. They store nice and flat if you don’t need them but, are very handy to have in the event you do need some extra storage along the way when traveling. The 4th photo shows one of the interror side zippered pouches that holds the port for plugging in a power bank. This is my first bag to offer this and I love having this option. The connection is conveniently located on the outside of the bag to connect my device to. The front zip out section to hold a laptop is nicely padded and offers multiple compartments for paperwork. I also love how the straps to convert to a backpack are hidden inside one of the back pockets. The ease with which to make the conversion is perfect. The 7th photo includes a marker to show how deep one of the outside pockets is - my fingertips are at the spot where the brown paper is resting. A small detail, but it is not common to see and is a nice feature. The last photo shows the handle which is thickly cushioned and covered with breathable fabric. The shoulder straps are also very well cushioned, sturdy, and attached securely. I will be breaking this in on my next weekend trip and look forward to seeing how it performs in action!

Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o) In short, this POWAITER backpack is GREAT! The long version: This is the backpack that really COULD! Lets count the ways: Its LARGE (aka HUGE) and great size for traveling, with generous dimensions of: 14 wide x 9 deep x 20 tall. Ive always gotten black backpacks, so time for a change, I ordered a lovely navy blue one. Fabric is really sturdy, and has a denim like look. The pack is beautifully sewn as well. 21 pockets Folks! Nuf said on that one! Im a happy camper about that... I NEED those pockets when I travel! (I will confess, Im guilty of organizing so well that I lose track of what I pack! ;o) Has hidden pockets in the back of the backpack (the part that rests on your back, natch!) that contains zippered section for the well padded shoulder straps, and lower down the pack, is the all-important anti-theft (read: peace of mind) zippered pocket for your passport, and important items you dont want to lose, if stranded on your trip. POWAITER Backpack is so Well Thought Out, it even has pockets and cubes for wet items like toiletries and and icky things you dont want next to your clean clothes like shoes! Not only that, the luggage section has a 180º sturdy zipper (actually, all the zippers are quite sturdy ;o), to easily open this section flat, much like a conventional suitcase, compete with elastic straps to keep your clothes contained within. This section comes with 4 very useful packing cubes to make your travels/packing much easier. Near the front of the backpack has a large, padded, dedicated pouch for your laptop, along with extra pockets within to hold your paperwork and office items. You could squeeze in your tablet as well. And the terrific list goes on and on! This POWAITER Backpack is practically PERFECT in every way! I have only one teensy weensy wish as I travel quite a bit. One airport Im always departing from, tends to examine your electronics in much closer detail. Obviously, we all have to move quickly through TSA-- theres ALWAYS a line, right? ;o) It would be lovely to have a 180º zipper for the laptop section, to help quickly remove the electronics, without holding up that line, you know? This travel backpack is greatly designed. It’s versatile and can be used in any occasions. The material and build is impressive. Multiple compartments make this a great travel backpack. I highly recommend this backpack.

Recommended, based on first impressions. I havent yet traveled with this product, but believe it will hold up well. It took a bit of exploring to find and appreciate all of the little features built into this product. A product guide showing where things are hidden would have been nice to have in hand. Regardless, I found everything. Eventually. A few things are worth highlighting. First, the product can be configured in several ways. For example, the backpack straps and strap clips can be tucked away in compartments specifically designed for that purpose, such that the backpack becomes a soft shell suitcase. Second, slim pockets of various sizes are accessible from the front, allowing easy access to e-readers, phones and laptops during security screenings. Third, the product opens like a backpack or a suitcase regardless of how configured, making for easy packing and great travel access. Fourth, clips are built in on either side of the main compartment zipper - with clips closed, this product is well protected against the wrong toss or bounce popping it wide open. I could go on, but instead, I recommend a careful reading of the product description. If you order this travel backpack, review the product photos and description online after it arrives - everything pictured in those photos actually exists somewhere on this product - explore a bit and youll find every feature. Bottom line - I am looking forward to using this product on my next trip.

The backpack arrived very quickly and nicely packaged. It is well padded and made of heavy duty material. The back pack has several nice features such as being able to tuck the straps conveniently into a pocket so that it can be carried as a suitcase and has sliding clips on each size so that you can shrink or expand the depth of the entire pack. It also comes with packing cubes to help organize and shrink clothing down so that more will fit into the bag. The laptop packet is in a separate zippered compartment at the front of the pack for easy access. Very nicely done.

This is the second travel backpack that I have used and this is way nicer than the other one. First, the back padding is super thick and has a bunch of pockets in the back that I appreciate to keep items safe. There are so many pocket options, its almost to the point of too many pockets, but Ill use them! The downside, the drink pocket is on the thinner side and has trouble fitting a larger water bottle. The throwaway 16.9oz water bottles fit fine. They tossed in a few different size packing cubes so I have a ton of options when packing. The fabric weight is good and Im confident if it needed to be checked the bag would hold up. The whole bag has a really nice fit, finish, and feel to it. I like the expander option and the clips to help keep it all compact, just really thoughtful features. Overall, Im excited to take it on more trips. I have an international trip coming up soon and will report back if the bag does not meet expectations. EDIT: Im back from Portugal and this bag held up great. I was able to fit it under the seat except on the aisle seat on Boeing 757 that had really small under seat storage. The front pockets made it easy to grab headphones and my tablet.

I am currently on my first trip using the backpack to take along my laptop. So I cannot speak to how long, or for how many trips, it will last. It is very lightweight material which makes me wonder. Personally, at least so far, I have not found the extra, separate zipper bags to be of use.
