Various size bass punches are great for working with.

This is an excellent quality set of brass punches in sizes ranging from 1/16 to 5/16. The quality is excellent. Nice finish on all 8 pieces. The sizing is right on per my micrometer. They call this a premium set, and indeed it is. Well worth the investment.

DO NOT buy these punches if youre going to do anything a punch should do. The shaft bends so easily you would think they were made of rubber. Only the thickest punches are sturdy. Most of the punches in this kit can be bent with two fingers, making any taps with a mallet or armorers hammer wayyyyy too easy to bend with just one stroke. Strongly advise to never buy these.

Hitting things with hammers always causes damage so having a soft punch to take the abuse is a must. This is a nice small brass punch set. soft enough not to scratch what you are working on but solid enough to get the job done. Nice set for the money.

I have finally filled the need for brass punches. This set has the sizes that I need. And the brass gives peace of mind for not marring.

At the time of this review, this set is offered for almost 25$ which is too expensive for what it is, in my opinion. First - the selection of sizes is very odd: there is no 5/64 size, but there are 5/16”(!) and 1/4”(!). I am not sure what kind of application such huge punches are intended for, honestly. Especially considering that the entire length of these is only 3-1/2”. Another cons - on the ad you can see a gunsmith using these on a firearm (and that what I bought them for). But, the problem is that these have flat ends, so they wont work for roll-pins that are common in gunsmithing (see photo with gunsmithing steel punch for comparison). Finally, one of the punches came slightly crooked. Anyway, I am not excited about this set, especially considering its price.

**Update 10/24/22** The seller reached out to me since my first review was one star. I didnt respond back, but I see now the imaged is changed showing a length of 4 and it is at the beginning of the review. Because they fixed this, I added a star, but still doesnt change anything else on the review. ------------- I picked this set over others for one reason, one of the photos shows the dimensions as 5/8 inch thick at the base and overall length as 7.87 inch. This is false. These are no more than 3-1/2 inches long. To make matters worse, the 1/16 came bent. It was very easy to bend back, I was worried it would break. It should be soft because they are brass, but this quality control and false information is horrible. The main purpose I got these for, they need to be about 7 punches as advertised. But, because they are not, they will not work for what I intended. I thought these were more expensive due to their larger size, they appear to be all the same size as others sold for nearly half the price. I would avoid this, they are not 7 punches as advertised, due to this they are also overpriced.

These are decently made simple brass punches for drifting steel and other harder metal where you dont want marring or cracking.
