First off; I’ve only used the projector once. I will update this review as time goes on and I use it more. -Background: This is my first projector so I did quite a bit of research trying to find something that worked for me. Once I started researching I ended up going down the rabbit hole so to speak. There’s so many things to keep in mind when buying one (lumens, bulb life, throwback distance, number of connection ports, connectivity to external speakers, whether or not the bulb is replaceable, etc. I learned all this while researching and reading other people’s reviews so take your time and do some reading too). I first bought an Epson projector because it’s a “brand” name. It was beautiful and easy to navigate. I didn’t even have to read the instructions BUT I returned it because it turned out to be a pain to try and attach external speakers to it. -What I was looking for: A simple projector to watch movies outdoors with the family (we have two nieces ages 6 and 4). I didn’t want something super expensive because I knew that we would only use it a few times a year, hence it made no sense to me to spend a ton of money on a projector AND external speakers. I just wanted something fun for the girls (let’s face it, what do kids know about great movie/sound quality?) We’re not picky people so I wasn’t looking for movie theater quality picture and sound. All I wanted was something fun to share with the family. -What I found: If you’re looking for movie theater quality picture and sound you’re going to HAVE to spend thousands of dollars on a projector and external speakers. If that’s not a problem for you, then go for it. If you’re just looking to have some fun with the family find something that won’t break the bank BUT remember that you get what pay for. So if you buy one of those $99 projectors, don’t expect greatness. -Pros: GREAT family projector. Picture is clear and crisp. Easy to navigate once you figure out how to do it ; ) Giant screen if you have the room to move your projector back so you get the screen size you want. We played an hour and forty movie for the girls and when it was over the projector was not hot. Not even warm to the touch. We did not notice the noise from the fan at all but keep in mind that we were outdoors and not sitting next to it. I did try it indoors first to figure out how to use it and even then I did not think the fan was very loud. -Cons: Despite what the product description says, the projector speakers ARE NOT LOUD. You are going to need external speakers. The instructions for the projector are written weird. It’s really hard to understand them but after playing around for a few minutes I had it down. It’s not rocket science so don’t let that deter you from getting this projector. BOTTOM LINE: So far I’m totally happy with this projector. I recommend it if like us, you’re looking to have fun with your family. Our first outdoor movie night went great. For sound I bought a 25ft long audio/video cable and connected that to the headphone jack of the projector and then I connected the other end to one of those Costco square portable black speakers and that worked for us. I also tried it with the computer speakers we have and that worked too (indoors, when I was trying to figure out what to use for sound). I already had a VGA cable to connect my iPad/iPhone to the projector via their included HDMI cable and stream Disney+ for the movie we saw. Again, I’m very happy with this purchase and I recommend it. I will update my review as we get more use out of it.

Have had this projector since feb 2021 and I am extremely happy with the quality of it. I have probably purchased 6 projectors for myself or as gifts and either the is fan really loud, picture gets distorted around edges, or just minor nuances. But the GooDee has held up fantastic, cant speak for the most current model but if its anything like the 2021 model I highly recommend it..

So, I decided to get a projector this summer to add a little outdoor family fun during Covid. I received it from Amazon yesterday morning. Within about 15 minutes, we had it unpacked and streaming End Game (through Apple TV) on our living room wall. I just wanted to test it out before July 3rd when Hamilton is released on Disney. Cant have any hiccups for that!!:) The photo of End Game, on the right, was taken during bright daylight hours. As I dont have curtains in that room, I made do with a few thin blankets just for testing purposes. Light was still filtering through the curtains. The picture was still great quality imagery even in an unideal viewing environment. The other picture was taken at night. Great quality imagery/graphics. Ill add that the wall in my living room is 8 x 18. I had to move the projector closer to fit the picture on my wall. So in these pics, the projector is about 16 away from the wall. However, the quality of the graphics were excellent at 18 . My wall just wasnt big enough to hold that size picture. I couldnt move it back any further to test a further projector placement. Our room isnt big enough. You will probably want to use at least one blue tooth speaker and place it by the picture on your wall/screen. The quality of the sound from the projector is fine for a living room, but the sound was coming from behind what we were viewing. It was totally fine but once we connected one simple little JBL speaker and set it up by the picture....a whole new experience. We might look into a stereo surround, but we really are totally satisfied with what a little JBL wireless was able to do. If you already have a wireless speaker, definitely hook that up first. It might be all you want. Also, there are plenty of options available in the menu to customize your own viewing preference, but I really enjoyed the already built in dynamic option for viewing just about everything we watched yesterday. My family really loves this new projector.

The GooDee 2023 Dolby Native 1080P Video Projector offers an affordable option for those looking to bring the cinema experience to their home or backyard. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of a high-end projector, its still a decent option for the price. Lets explore the pros and cons of this budget-friendly movie projector. Pros: Affordable: The GooDee 2023 projector provides a cost-effective solution for those wanting to enjoy movies or games on a big screen without breaking the bank. Native 1080P resolution: The projector supports full HD resolution, providing a clear and sharp image. Large screen support: With the ability to project up to 230 inches, you can create an immersive cinema experience right in your own home or backyard. Cons: Limited brightness: With a brightness of 9500 lumens, the projector may not be suitable for use in well-lit environments or during daytime outdoor events. Limited remote functionality: The included remote control has limited functionality, which may be inconvenient for some users. Potential sound issues: Some users may find the built-in speakers to be lacking in quality, and may need to connect external speakers for a better audio experience. In conclusion, the GooDee 2023 Dolby Native 1080P Video Projector offers a budget-friendly option for those wanting to enjoy movies, games, or other media on a large screen. While it may not be the brightest or most feature-rich projector on the market, it still provides decent performance for the price. If youre looking for an affordable projector for occasional movie nights or gaming sessions, the GooDee 2023 might be worth considering. Just keep in mind that you may need to make some adjustments, such as using external speakers or finding the right lighting conditions, to get the best experience.

Very bright. Very clear. Easy to use. I suppose everything is relative. We are coming from a Vankyo Leisure 3 Mini Projector. We were happy with that projector. However, it began to develop a large dark spot on the screen (something mentioned in negative reviews for almost all LED projectors). I did some research, and felt this projector was the best price/quality ratio. Despite what companies say about 50 or 100k hours of life in the LED bulb, I dont think those are good gauges for the overall lifespan of the projector. I believe they will often die for other reasons before the LED bulb. Rather than pay 2 or 3 times the price for a projector with the same resolution and brightness, but a longer lasting bulb, I decided to pay $100ish for this projector and be able to afford to replace it. I am very happy with the decision. Again, this projector produces a very high quality image (compared to our previous projector). It is a great value when used as a family movie night projector.

I have mixed feelings about this projector. Having owned several different projectors from the low-end (like a GooDee $99 unit) all the way up to several name brand (Optoma) units, this feels like a pretty good trade-off between cost and quality. Pros: Unit has decent image quality with what seems to be true/native 720p resolution. It frustrates me immensely that Amazon allows sellers to advertise units as 1080p when in fact they are just SD but have the ability to downscale an HD signal to run on their junky SD chips. I havent gotten out the magnifying glass to count lines but it does look like this unit is projecting a real 720p signal. Surprisingly good sound for a projector. Not that youd want to watch a movie and use the speaker as the primary source of audio, but you could if you had no other option. Cons: I am highly skeptical that this has a real LED lamp. It puts out a ton of heat, as much as my Optoma projectors with traditional lamps. I wonder if anyone has done a teardown of one of these to look because my money is that they are using a traditional lamp...and therefore are falsely claiming it to be LED. To be clear, Id still buy the unit at this price point if it had a traditional lamp; I just get annoyed at false advertising. Software/menu is super basic. They are using the same menu structure as on their $99 units. There are very basic color controls as well as the ability to play movies from a memory card but the whole menu structure feels very...cheap. It would be nice if GooDee put some R&D into the software. Focus ring is very stiff; this is actually a good thing in my book as it means that once you set the focus it is very unlikely to drift. The down side is that the keystone correction ring is right next to the focus ring and feels very loose, likely to drift on its own. Its proven very difficult to get an image that is sharp at all four corners, even when projecting straight towards the wall (ie, not ceiling mounted). No zoom control. At all. The only way to adjust the image size to fit your screen is to physically move the PJ closer or farther away. Not very bright. Ive seen multiple reviews claiming that this PJ can be used with the room lights on or when ambient daylight is present. This is simply not the case. This PJ simply isnt bright enough to compete with any other light in the room at all unless you are projecting onto a real projection screen, although my theory is that if you had the budget for a real screen youd probably also buy a better projector. Overall Id say I like this PJ, especially at the price point. For $200 Id say youll be pleased. Dont expect it to perform like a name brand unit (Optoma, BenQ, etc), but for $200 it performs surprisingly well and is a very definite step up from their $99 SD PJs. Its not likely to impress anyone looking to build a home theater, but is very capable for a kids night slumber party scenario, backyard movie night (assuming you can keep the ambient light to a minimum), dorm room, etc.

We wanted a backyard projection setup for last years Covid situation. This inexpensive projector fit the bill perfectly. When you pair it with a good screen (we got a 120 diagonal screen {spandex?} on Amazon) it is bright enough to see even before its completely dark outdoors. It has good I/O, with a 5 volt USB to power a streaming stick like Chromecast (which we use). It does NOT have built in bluetooth but we run audio from the mini stereo plug to a set desktop computer speakers with a subwoofer and we feel its plenty loud without annoying the neighbors. The two HDMI ports are nice too. You have full control with the tiny included remote, and you can flip the picture top to bottom or left to right depending on how you choose to mount it or do rear projection. It has a couple of weaknesses- leveling is a bit tricky, since you can only raise or lower the image and there is no left-to-right tilt adjustment. I bought a large ball level head and used that to mount to a board on which I mounted the projector. Now I can set both the up-down and left-right tilts and tighten with a single knob. The built in speakers are mediocre indoors and far too weak for outdoors. Youllwant a soundbar or external speakers. The keystoning adjustment is probably the weakest feature on the projector. You slide a lever and get about 5 degrees of sloppy feeling adjustment which means that you probably need the projector at least as high off the ground as the bottom of the screen, which then means that if you have a bunch of folks in your yard watching some people might have their view affected because of the height of the projector. Our screen setup is about 3 feet off the ground, so the projector sits at about 3 feet to be able to throw out an image that is not distorted. You also need to play with the focus adjustment but have to settle for a happy medium with some or all of the image a bit off. Like many inexpensive AV units, the remote control is a miniature item that would be easy to loose. We marked ours with some dayglo yellow tape to make sure it doesnt get lost in the dark. Because the remote uses a coin battery it doesnt have a lot of range. Overall Id say that this is a good entry level projector for people who want to try out a projector without dropping a lot of cash.

I’ve been looking at projectors for years for family movie nights outside and finally came across this one and decided to get it. I couldn’t be happier! Extremely clear image. Easy to connect to my Roku. Connects to wifi outside in locations my phone can’t. This is the one to buy!

I purchased this projector for backyard movie nights. The above pictures are on a collapsible screen/frame I bought on Amazon. It is nothing more than a white cloth sheet. I am sure the pictures would pop way more on a better screen. Couple things to note: 1. This is not my first projector. The first one I bought was around the $80 mark. It was fun to have a huge screen, but the picture quality was awful. This projector is off the chart better. 2. It seems like every projector in this price point advertises 1080p. However, it only “supports” a 1080p picture. Likely it is a native 480p picture. Maybe 720p if you’re lucky. This projector is actually 1080p. Overall I am very impressed with the quality of the picture. It is nothing like the 4K TV you have in your house. It is, however, a very nice picture. I’d not recommend this in a partially lit room. The picture will be very dull. In a fully dark room it is awesome. If you’re on the fence or looking for a great projector under $200- this is the one.
