Greater than one weekHowwoo tested on the right compared to our 1990s era dlp projector sporting a 2500 lumen halogen lamp and 640x480 resolution on the left. Both were set up in a windowless basement to create an approx 1 square meter image. Distance from the wall was 53 for the Howwoo and 93 for the dlp. Despite being closer, the Howwoo measured 60% as bright as the dlp. We never realized how low contrast the dlp was until viewed next to the Howwoo. I also tried both projectors in a sunny room where the differences were less dramatic. The Howwoos picture quality drops off rapidly beyond approx 55 diag image size and become illegible over 100. These was surprisingly little difference in sharpness given the huge differences in native resolution. I could not get the entire Howwoo screen in focus at the same time. If the center was focused, everything else was blurry. If the edges were focused, the center would be blurry. The keystone correction only pinches the bottom and could not really get it completely square. I think there must be something warped or misaligned inside. The speakers were adequate. I could not get the wifi or Bluetooth or mirroring to work. I did not try the SD slot, AV jack or projection screen. The fan was near silent and the body did not get warm after 1 hr of use. For $60, it is acceptable for general movie viewing but I would not recommend it for presentations.

> 3 dayWe had a pretty cheap projector before this one and you could only watch movies if it was completely dark in the room, and even then movies were often too dark to see detail. This projector has many brightness, contrast, and color settings that make such a big difference! Quality looks amazing for such a large screen space. I included a picture of what the movie looked like before the sun went down and then two pictures from when it was dark in the room. Even when it was still light out you could see all the detail and clearly read the subtitles :) We haven’t even tried projecting on the screen it came with, only projected directly on an off white wall but other reviews say quality is even better with the screen it comes with. I am impressed!

> 3 dayThe projector has built-in speakers, which you can also attach to your laptop or laptop/TV combo for sound. It also has all the connectivity youd expect from a projector: HDMI ports, USB, audio jack... If you want to experience the wow of a projector in action, youll be able to take advantage of its integrated speakers and share some video files with your friends and family. This is a projector thats not only well designed but also easy to use. Its menu system is fairly intuitive and even if youve never used a projector before, youll be able to figure out how to use it fairly quickly. Ultimately, the image quality is pretty great. But, like most projectors, its not the be all and end all of home cinema, since you still need good speakers.

> 3 dayThis projector has excellent picture quality, especially considering the price but the sound is not great . I have let the company know and they are working to resolve the issue. The customer service has been excellent. I would recommend this for a fun, different way to watch a movie, but dont expect theater quality sound. My kids have enjoyed it, especially when my son realized he could hook the computer to it and play video games on a big screen! Ive also used it as a drawing template to make posters by projecting words or pictures on the wall to enlarge and trace to size. This is great especially in a classroom.

10-04-2025Spent a while researching the best projector under $100. Bought this projector for my college dorm. Best investment ever. My roommates pitched in, and we had it mounted on a tripod facing a blank wall. We rearranged the furniture no fiddled around with things a bit. Adjusting the keystone is the hardest part, but once you’ve got that, it’s pretty easy! Even the adjustment took less than 5 minutes. It has two HDMI ports, one of which we had a fire stick on, and the other had my laptop for when we want to stream old Barbie movies in 480p, for the nostalgia. Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and AppleTV+ work fine on it. Projector also connected quickly to the Bluetooth soundbar. It’s a good projector. We had it from October to January, but unfortunately ended up returning it, as a friend sold me a 4K projector they were getting rid of for $20. They got a new one for Christmas. Anyway, projector worked strong even until the end. My only recommendation is to get speakers for it. Before we got the sound bar, we had the JBL Go 3 speaker, and that worked pretty well. The sound from the projector alone is a little harsh, but if you don’t mind, it should be fine.
