> 3 dayIm pretty disappointed. I upgraded to this device because my old PfSense box did not have AES-NI CPUs.

> 3 dayI had PFsense running on a 4 core computer that drew about 54 watts, according to my Kill A Watt. I already had the ram and the mSATA drive, and now the Protectli Vault does the same work using 10 watts.

> 3 dayPurchased the no memory or HD model. Except for USPS punching holes into the outer box, the inner box was intact and well packaged. The device is solid and after removing 4 screws, the bottom plate can be lifted off. Inside, well organized and easy to drop in memory and msata card. Theres a SATA plug but clearly no room. However, you could skip the bottom plate and have the sata drive outside. When ordering, the pictures show a power brick. I was expecting a brick with 3 prong plug but got a universal wall plug which doesnt fit on my UPS. @protectli - did the one i receive get mispackaged?

> 3 dayI found this while looking for a replacement for an old first-generation FitPC device that I used to use as a network firewall. The FitPC still runs, but for the last few years, Ive needed something with gigabit ethernet ports, which it doesnt have.

04-04-2025Works great for pfsense. This is the third computer I purchased for this purpose. The first one no aes-ni... The second was doa... I was trying to get buy paying less than 300 for a router box, but in the end you gotta pay to play. This works.

Greater than one weekEasy install and operation with OPNSense. Reasonably fast operation with hardware for the money, too slow in my tests to run squid proxy with filtering if speed/heavy usage required but I don’t really need that. It is very reasonably warm in operation but I added an external usb quiet free standing fan to move low speed air across it and case stays cool to touch. Very satisfied, and recommended. Been running a month now, absolutely no issues.

Greater than one weekBeen running this little guy for over two years without issue. It runs warm but rarely consumes more than 15% cpu. pFSense has been updated three or more times and its been trouble-free. I host a public facing website and this device protects my network for all sorts of intrusions.
