PSP USB Cable

i bought this cable accessory for my psp to transfer media to it , the one i received has a retractable cables on it .

This was not the cable i was looking for. The description was not very detailed.

I was very happy with the price and product. thanks very much and will order again when i need something else.

It came earlier than expected! It works and you cant beat the price. This is as good as it gets.

It works and the cord is lengthy enough to not cause problems. What more can I ask for?

This product page seems to ship more than one type of product. Some of the good reviews got cords such as you see in the user-submitted pictures. I got the one from the official picture. I assumed I might get one of the unofficially pictured cords, because the description says it ships a cord which does both data transfer and charging. The only cord I knew of that does that is like my old one, which has three ends like in one of the user-submitted pictures. The product description is technically correct, but the prospective buyer should keep in mind several caveats. As Ive learned this evening, the PSPs Mini USB port CAN receive charge, but only in USB mode and if the proper setting is applied. This has the following important consequences: *The PSP has to be in and remain in USB mode continuously to receive charge *The PSP must be on and consuming power continuously to receive charge *This cord cannot charge a PSP from a wall or car USB adapter, or anything else that cant interface with it to put it in USB mode *So, to my knowledge, it can only charge the PSP from a computer that is constantly awake (if your computer sleeps after 10 minutes, USB mode will end, the PSP will run out of battery, and youll need another cord to revive it) or from a running PS3 *It cannot charge a PSP with a dead battery, the PSP and the correct system setting have to already be on for the cord to begin communicating charge *To use this cord long-term, youd have to keep charging the PSP regularly since (at least my) PSP batteries die just from sitting for a time *The PSP cannot play games or do anything else other than transfer files while charging; you cannot start charging the PSP while playing a game, either One more issue: PSP 3000. The description and several reviewers suggest this cord does not work with PSPs of model 3000. Mine is PSP 3000, and under the correct settings and conditions such as I have described, it works fine. I am not an engineer, but I have not seen any evidence and it hasnt been my experience that the PSP 3000 takes some special cord. I suspect that reviewers who have had the experience that it does not work were not aware of and following all of the conditions described above. Possibly the description used to claim it worked for 3000s, but the seller changed it after receiving complaints. Its also possible that some cords dont work with the 3000, and one of the other types of cord this seller appears to have been sending out now or in the past are examples, but I have had two models of PSP and three brands of PSP cord now and never encountered the issue or specifically labeled PSP 3000 cords. Conclusion: This cord technically meets its description, but the experience of numerous customers and the page itself confuse the issue. Unless all the reviews which received cords like in the user-submitted pictures correlate with a particular time frame, the seller seems to be sending out more than one make of cord. Speaking for the cord which I received, a long USB to Mini USB, you DO NOT want this cord as your only means to charge the PSP unless 1) you charge you will PSP very regularly forever so it never runs out of battery, 2) you are okay with never using or turning off the PSP while its charging (except to transfer data), and will always have a non-sleeping computer or PS3 handy to do all this charging (at the additional expense of running those devices all the time, too).

Its simple, it works, cant complain. They shipped it promptly with no problems.

This is a great usb cable for the Sony Playstation Portable. I have a black PSP slim. I transfer videos from my PC to my PSP with this cable, and it works great. As someone else mentioned, I was surprised to find that it also has a charging cable attached, so that you dont have to worry about your battery draining while connected to the PC at the same time. Its sturdy and everything fits snug as well. Plus, its very cheap! Great product.

This cable is awesome! I use it all the time to put songs and videos onto the PSP. I can pretty much put anything into my PSP now.
