I purchased the female piece only to find that I really needed the male, because Python sucks at accurate descriptions for their parts. 5 stars because the replacements are same-as quality as the original purchase years ago.

Products last for years.

So I have 3 of these Python hoses, one for my African Cichlids tank, one for my Blood Parrot Cichlids tank and one for my Quarantine tank. After each use I make sure that I properly roll up the hose, I always make sure that I tighten the connectors and I always make sure that I dont tighten it too much not to damage it. I use it every single week as I make weekly water changes on both aquariums. The Python hose I have for my quarantine tank is barely used as I didnt have sick or new fish. I recently moved 2 fish into the quarantine tank because I found out they were females, I got all of them when they were very young. The reason for the move was because of aggression. So I started using the fairly new Python, but not every week, ever 2-3 weeks since the water parameters are fine without high nitrates. ALL 3 PYTHON HOSES LEAK AT THE CONNECTED AREA. They dont leak heavy, but already leak. I have these Python hoses not longer than 6 months. Honestly I really love them, makes water changes so much easier, but my 3 hoses definitely have issues with the rubber rings inside some of the connectors that I use often.

Fits and works great

It is a great replacement for the python. The python is a great water changing system if you have a big or small aquarium. If you don’t already have it, go check it out you might like it.They come in different sizes one 25 feet one is 50 one is 100 foot. The one from Petsmart isn’t as good. Again this goes with it so don’t assume that this is the entire thing.
