Qty(2) QiMox Hood Lift Supports Shock Struts Compatible with Toyota Avalon 2005-2012

The metal clips that lock these into place are harder to work with than on any other gas lift struts Ive used before. Ive replaced struts on hoods and tailgates before and never had a problem - until today. Your supposed to just release the metal clip, slip the socket over the ball on the vehicle, and push the clip back into place, right? But these clips wouldnt release properly. One side of the clip would release, but the other side would push into the socket. I mangled two clips trying to release them properly. Fortunately I was able to replace them with clips from the old struts. I finally realized a good method to release the clips - insert needle nose pliers into the socket to prevent the clip from going into the socket, and release the clips from the back with a screwdriver as usual. What a pain. Now that Ive got these installed, I hope they last a very long time, so I never have to do this again.

Snap rings broke upon install. Useless. Returned same day.

The struts seemed super stiff and cannot be pressed by hand, which is prolly a good thing. Easy install and matching length as the original. Right off the bat it performs good and lifts the hood even if you like raise the hood half way, it’ll do the rest and raise up. No regrets, just hope it lasts a good while!

Working very good with toyota avalon 2010, better than OEM

Fit perfect. Took 5 minutes and a screwdriver to install. Work well and even together. Very pleased not to have to hold the hood up by hand, or with vice grips.
