Qty(2) QiMox Hood Lift Supports Shock Struts Compatible with Toyota Avalon 2005-2012

In early September I noticed the hood for my wifes 2011 Toyota Avalon Limited would not stay open due to one hood strut having lost all its oil. Accordingly projected maybe a $20 bill to go pick ONE up at Autozone - NOT! I was told it would be in excess of $40 and would need to be ordered with possible receipt a week out. Neither tidbit of news was welcome to me so I thought Id check Amazon. What was I thinking? - OF COURSE Amazon would solve my problem. A few minutes research and a couple mouse clicks later and, for less than $24 (for TWO, not ONE) my hood struts were on their way. Within less than 2 (mailing) days and 5 minutes labor, my wifes Toyota breathed a sigh of relief, knowing it had full hood support, and I was once again a minor hero to my wife for taking such good care of her car. Will they last as long as the original struts (about 9 years)? If I even get 1/2 that life span Ill be happy. Meanwhile, I fully support this product and encourage its purchase if it fits your car.

Theres nothing good to say about this...mounting points are plastic, which may not be an issue, but I was unable to test it...because the metal clip thats supposed to hold them in place was broken. It was bent inside of the mount point, to a degree that I couldnt get it out and into its proper place. Shouldve expected this from a cheap product. Oh well.

This product is a good fit for a toyota avalon 2008 limited and it streteches a little bit more than the original prop rods

Toyota of Weston FL wanted $300 to replace hood struts! These were $20 and shipped for free. I watched a How To You Tube video and installed them myself in 15 minutes! Toyota should be ashamed to gouge customers!

Not sure why the original Hood Lift Supports Shock Strut went bad. It’s not like I open my hood everyday or every week…. Probably engine heat deteriorated it. This was easy to install. Hood even stayed up with just one installed…. Of course I used both. It opens the hood a little higher than the original so you got more room to work with.

Replaced the hood supports for my 2009 Avalon in 2018. Easy repair. Replace them both at the same time for the price. 15 minute job.
