> 3 dayThe staple that comes with it (the one that you will slide your latch through) is impossible to pound in. The ends are practically round, not pointed, so wont drive into a post/board. The latch is pretty, just not practical.

> 3 dayDisappointed that it was made in China and no NZ or USA . Angles have been added to the original smooth curve. Also the quality was lesser but it still seems to do its job although not as nice a feel to the hand. Next time I will try and find some like the ones packaged labelled Gallagher that were made in NZ. . These do seem to work, and function I m skeptical about the angles as they would add an anti-gravity less efficient aspect.

> 3 dayI bought this for the gate entering our goat pen because I was tired of having to empty my hands so I could open the gate. It works great! Easy to open with one hand and its so simple!

> 3 dayThis latch is known to me as the kiwi latch. It used to be sold locally, but not anymore. It doesnt freeze shut, if a post shifts you can still use it, horses cannot get it open (not even our resident houdini), easy one handed use, very hard to break. This model came with a decent chain as well. We do not use the included u staples, but instead sturdy eyelets. To use the latch, just drop it straight in the eyelet to latch the gate. To open it, flip the ring up and lift. Super simple. Ive seen horses hit a gate hard enough to pull those u staples right out. There are different ways to attach it to a post: Use a screw/bolt and washer into wood gates, wrap the chain around the tube gate and use a spin latch to secure it, or use a chain link fence brace band or tension band (I used the tension bands to have the chain further from the gate- less noise) and bolt the latch chain to the band. One of the photos hides the eyelet that is secured in a 6 inch post. The white in front is an arbor we have on the human side of the gate.

> 3 dayWorks good. Except the over sized staple won’t go into a hedge post with out bending

> 3 dayFor the last year Ive been using a chain with a carabiner to latch the gate closed to my donkeys. This is seriously such a huge improvement over that. Theres no fighting, just a gentle lift on the ring and it comes right off my eye bolt. When I fence another pasture soon Ill absolutely be getting another one.
