QWORK 1/2 - 14 NPT Pipe Tap, Carbon Steel, for Clean and Re-thread Damaged or Jam Pipe Threads

I used it to clean up the threads in my camper hot water heater anode rod hole. The threads had become so crusted with mineral deposits that the new anode rod would not thread in far enough and would seep whenever there was pressure in the tank. After using this tap to clean up the threads, the new rod sealed perfectly.

The markings on this tap are not deeply engraved so one must be very careful not to make a mistake.

I had never used a tap before, so I wasnt sure what to expect. The tap was scary sharp, strong, and of good quality. Even though Id never done it before, using this tap I successfully cleaned the threads on an old elbow fitting for a tub spout - first try. I recommend this product.

I used a 13/16 spark plug socket to hold the tap. Cleaned up RV water heater anode rod hole quickly with some cutting oil.

To thread inside a stainless reducer pipe.

Does what it supposed to do.

This product arrived very quickly and was well packaged. I used it for tapping holes in schedule 40 PVC and 1/4in clear acrylic sheet and it worked perfectly.
